We hit the bonanza in finding this hotel on a road trip home. Two other layover towns were a bust for hotel and steak house. Driving father north, we looked into Chico. We have never been to Chico but were looking for a nice steak house and hotel. We found the perfect restaurant with this gem (Diamond) of a hotel to stay that was only two blocks from the restaurant. Free parking and free breakfast were added perks. The hotel was very clean, classy and comfortable. It felt and looked like a vintage, antique hotel but with all the modern amenities. Crazy enough, we would divert from I-5 next time just to stay here. It's great to know that we now have a destination hotel when traveling between Oregon and southern California. We had a lovely dinner, then walk back to hotel for a night cap at the bar. A perfect evening.

The parking garage was right next to the hotel. There was easy access and it was well lit and clean. Parking was free for hotel guests, so totally a win!

The staff here are amazingly nice and accommodating. I asked for a different pillow, they brought me one. I asked to borrow a phone charger they had every kind. Both the lady at the front desk ( Madison?) and the lady at the restaurant ( server ) were extremely kind and welcoming. Five starts for this staff.

Staff at check-in & check-out were so friendly & helpful. The female staff member at check-in recommended a great restaurant, 5th street steakhouse! The male staff that checked us out (sorry not to get names) was quite personable & provided information on the history of the area. The breakfast was delicious both the fresh bread, & the omelette was made to order! Great place to stay!
