Disliked: Cleanliness, room comfort
The basic's done badly
Front door handle was hanging off upon arrival
Kitchen and dining table dirty
Bath room light flickered dangerous on and off
Front door lock to the block of flats was apparently broken so ended up locked out one evening.
Hob ignitor broken
No plug for the bath – this was important to us as we had our toddler staying with us and showers are very tricky!
Telly remote didn’t work – we went to get batteries
No live TV – difficult when we wanted to watch the Olympics
The chest of draws were broken
Freezer draws broken
No microwave – although it lists one
Although we got in touch with landlord upon arrival, he agreed he would get the door handle and plug for the bath fixed the next day. Only the door handle was attempted to be fixed but it was stuck in the open position – quite concerning from a safety point of view. A bath plug did get brought to us 4 days after arrival but we had already gone out to buy one. On the second day when we tried to back in touch with the landlord he had gone radio silence.
As a side note, but outside of his control, the apartment was very noise from the adjust road which ended up waking our daughter up a couple of times a night.
The above are all basics and they were done badly.
We were really impressed with Christchurch though – would recommend that!
