About this space
'Explorers Base Camp' is located in picturesque Church Stretton, known as 'Little Switzerland!' It is the perfect base for cyclists & walkers, or for those just to enjoy the beautiful scenery.
We have an amazing space outside with a covered decked area that overlooks our beautiful wildlife garden with views of Caer Caradoc, which you can enjoy whatever the weather. It's a wonderful place to sit and relax! If you'd rather be inside, then our cosy lounge in front of the log burner is for you.

The space
Our home is rather quirky, cosy and we love the fact that the hub of the house has been designed to bring the outdoors in, with a spacious kitchen/dining area, leading out to a covered veranda overlooking the wonderful delights of the wildlife garden and outside bar. Where you can sit day or night, relax and enjoy the outdoors.

Our log burner sits between both sides of the house for those chillier evenings and is great for warming up downstairs.

In the lounge, we do also have a sofa bed, please let us know if you are planning on using, so we can ensure there is linen. For those who like a little TV, we have one in the lounge with Sky but we'll let you find it. There are also board games available and a selection of maps and local guides, for you to plan your day.

As you come in our hallway has plenty of storage space to keep all your outdoor kit.

Upstairs we have two double bedrooms both with plenty of hanging space and views of the hills and the garden.

At the bottom of our garden is our cabin, where we sometimes stay but can promise we won't disturb your privacy.

Outside we have storage for up to 6 bikes and other outdoor equipment and secure parking.

Guest access
The whole of the house and the courtyard garden are available for guests to enjoy. At the bottom of the garden our neighbour lives in the cabin, although her access is separate, if sat in the garden you may see her coming and going from time to time but she'll always have a wave.

Other things to note
As we are 2 minutes from the station, there are occasional trains passing!

We ask you to use the log burner reasonable and we can't promise if there will be any logs left, so we would recommend bringing your own or you can buy them locally. The doors should be kept shut when the stove is lit. When the burner is in use it gets very hot so please take care and use the tool provided to open the door to add logs. There is no permanent fireguard, so if you have young children staying in the property, please use your judgment and extreme caution as to if/when you use the stove. The fire must be put out when not attended to. Thanks
