Reviewer Comments:
We really enjoyed our stay at Wood Duck in Glen Eden. The cabin did have some minor things wrong that had not been repaired since the year before, but overall it was very clean and a great location. We loved that it had a clear view of the playground and also backs up to the river.

Reviewer Comments:
Positive: Very nice cabin, very comfortable and well stocked with dishes, pots, pans, towels, etc. We weren't missing anything.Negative: It is ridiculous that they are now charging $100 cleaning fee and they still expect you to empty all of the trash cans, take out your trash to the outside trash can, wipe all of the counters down, put all dishes in the dishwasher and put all used towels in the tub/shower AND they leave an envelope in the welcome basket for you to leave a tip for the housekeeper. Since we're being charged $100 for cleaning, why would we tip the housekeeper? What's the $100 fee for? That should only be charged if folks are leaving their cabins in a mess. We always leave the cabin as we found it and the $100 fee is a punishment. The knob that controls the temperature for the oven is broken. The bar on the top shelf of the fridge door is broken. The ice trays in the freezer were empty. They should have been filled.

We stayed in Riverhouse. It is very quaint, charming, clean. Hearing the river out the back windows is so relaxing. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed all season due to the lack of staff.

Reviewer Comments:
The cabin was clean and quaint. Our first night we turned on the faucet around 10p and learned we had no water. We called the 2 phone numbers provided for help at the resort with no answer. Thankfully we found other guests who knew that it was a controlled shut off and water would be turned on in the morning, this happened every night of our stay. We were there in July and knew there was no a/c but there was only 1 fan for both bedrooms and no ceiling fans so it was hot inside the cabin until dusk. They provide a grill but no charcoal which is unfortunate considering the resort is rural and we paid $400/night and cooking outside keeps the heat down inside the cabin when there is no a/c, this should be encouraged. It was challenging to get more towels when we needed them, the kitchen did not have detergent for the dishwasher, and the smoke alarm did not have batteries(thankfully we did not need this). Communication from resort management was very limited, we met one woman who appeared to be responsible for dealing with the entire resort on a weekend, she is over worked. She needs support with that many guests coming and going. More good news, the pool and hot tub were great and well maintained.
