The newly renovated Cameron House Retreat is nestled in the foothills of Northeast GA wine country, and sits at the base of Mt. Yonah, and butts up to the Chatahoochee National Forest, a short walk from our property.
This sprawling 5 bedroom, 4 full bath home is like no other in the area.
Our home is located halfway between famous Alpine Helen and historical Cleveland, just 1.5 miles off Hwy. 75, and only 90 minutes NE of Atlanta.
This area is quickly becoming known as THE premier spot for excellent wines, with more than a dozen local, highly rated wineries for enthusiasts to tour and taste!
Convenient to restaurants, boutiques, sports activities, nature trails with beautiful waterfalls, scenic drives and quaint towns, Cameron House Retreat is the ideal vacation spot for adults and children alike.
Kids can spend hours tubing down a lazy river, go miniature golfing, go carting, panning for gold, or enjoy a day at the water park, all minutes away!
Enjoy roasting marshmallows by a campfire down by a private shared lake, take a rowboat out for a little fishing, a pedal boat out for a little paddling, relax in our shaded pavilion, or just sit on the dock and take in the breath-taking million dollar views.
With wrap around porches, a hot tub, a large extended back deck, and a warm and cozy environment, our home is a stand-out. With many nooks and crannies, it is small enough to curl up in a favorite corner with a book, yet large enough to secure the privacy of up to 14 adults, and 3 infants!
Each area has it's own unique theme and personality. The main floor has a fully equipped farmhouse style eat-in kitchen, a den with a gas fireplace, 2 bedrooms, a full bath, a dining room, laundry room, and a large living room with a wood burning fireplace for chilly nights.
One flight up leads you to the master bedroom with vaulted ceilings and private terrace, another guest bedroom, and full bath, and a private wing that sleeps 6.
NEW! A 500 sq. ft. detached game room for playing poker, ping-pong, Foosball, pool, and air hockey while watching sports on a 60" flat screen TV! Room for little kids, (big kids too), to color and play board games.
Be prepared to be enchanted by our relaxing and secluded mountain retreat. And please don't think of it as going away, just think of it as coming home...

Papa's Fish & Kids Getaway!!!

Papa's Fish & Kids getaway was also a pre surgery getaway. Papa' will have surgery soon and will be hanging up his pole (hopefully only for a short time!). The Cameron House Retreat was our respite. From the lake to the front lawn, the sweet sound of the grandchildren laughing and playing. To the occasional deer and plentiful lightning bugs, and the afternoon walks. What more could you ask for to recall upon when we are deep in our thoughts. Photos are wonderful, but they can't capture the smell of French Toast and coffee in the beautifully appointed downstairs. The whimsical upstairs children's rooms are a dream come true, and even the adults enjoyed their afternoon naps in their own spacious rooms. Mimi's favorite room was the downstairs library. It called me like a long-lost friend, my friend, time. The booking went smoothly, even though we added an extra night after our initial booking. The owners of the Cameron House even went out of their way when something was left behind. It's hard to trust what you see on the internet sometimes, but I can say with complete certainty, Cameron House Retreat is more than just a VRBO listing. It's a feeling of home and most importantly family. Mimi & Papa'

Great mountain stay!

Plenty of room for 6 adults and 6 kids to stay while playing in a baseball tournament at Yonah Preserve. Hot tub was great for the kids and adults. Beautiful walk down to the pond and great mountain views from the back porch! Robert and Debbi were VERY good about checking in to make sure everything was ok. Extremely accommodating and helpful throughout our stay. Would definitely stay here again!

Family weekend in Helen

The Cameron House was great. The house was larger than expected and provided plenty of room for all our family members. The host was great in responding and made sure we had everything we needed. The house is also in a very good location close to Helen and many other attractions. We had a great time. Will stay again!!

Precious family time

We gathered to celebrate a daughter's significant decade birthday. "Surprise" guests for her included a favorite aunt from Ohio and Marine son stationed near Baltimore. We cooked (too) good meals, played games. Our fishermen were delighted to fish the small lake in the boat. Such a lovely home in a great location....seemingly in the middle of nowhere in the mountains but a short drive to grocery store, Mt Yonah hiking, wineries. It doesn't get any better.

Bachelor trip paradise

My fiancé and a group of about 10 of his friends stayed here for a long weekend to celebrate his bachelor trip. They had the best time!!!! Amazing home.

I must start off and say that the pics of this home do not do it justice. This house is amazing and my family loved it. Plenty of space for everyone to spread out when the weather kept us inside and a great gameroom. The lake was great (although i would trim the willow tree at the dock) and we really wished we had the weather to take better advantage of the property. The home is very convenient to Helen and the surrounding areas, everything we wanted to see was no more then 15 minutes away.

Property location is very zen. Calm, relaxing, peaceful, yet close to Helen, GA and other activities. Game room is great! Pool, ping pong, air hockey, poker, and other board games. Property owner and property managers are easily accessible and responsive.

Beautiful View

Our family of 9 adults enjoyed the spacious home and game room. We enjoyed Mt Yonah nearby for a day hike, Helen, GA shops and small wineries. The game room kept us all entertained when it was chilly and rainy outside and the pond with row boat kept us busy when it warmed up a little. My oldest son caught a nice bass in the back right side of the pond (he released it) We likely would stay here again if we visit the Helen area. Plenty of room and plenty to do in a relaxing way.

Great Getaway Resort

Very impress with the retreat home, the home was clean and spacious. It was well stocked and everything was organized in the kitchen and bathroom. The property manager and the owners were pleasant and kind. The only down side is that on the last day there were issues with the water well so water supply was slim to none. Overall it was a great place.

Week End Retreat

Home is beautiful, neat, clean, quiet. The location feels remote but is close to Helen, GA. We enjoyed the Yonah Mountain Winery and Pizza in Helen. We enjoyed the game room which is a separate building from the house. We enjoyed playing ping pong and billiards. The reservation process was smoothe and easy. Owners are very friendly and accomodating. We came here for the same retreat the year prior to COVID and had reservations for when everything shut down, so we had to cancel. There was no problem there what soever. I would recommend to anyone who asks.

Relaxing and lovely !

The Cameron House Retreat was an ideal place for our extended family to gather from 3 states and enjoy one another ! This beautiful property had plenty of room for the 12 of us to spread out and enjoy our privacy but also many spaces to gather and eat a meal , play games or enjoy the Georgia mountains - especially Mt Yonah - magnificent ! We went into Helen to eat a couple of meals and drove to two waterfalls/ hikes . We enjoyed using the hot tub , large gas grill and the game room was the perfect place for our 3 nephews to hang out ! The bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious with such interesting decor ! What a special place !

Our family had a fun reunion at Cameron Retreat House!

We ranged in age from 2.5 to 72 years and this property was perfect for all ages! We especially loved the game room and sitting on the deck watching the sunset and stars come out in the evening. Such a wonderful home to relax in but plenty of activities close by, as well. The beautiful Anna Ruby Falls, the Tantrum Brewery and the Cabbage Patch Hospital in Cleveland were easy to visit. The owners were so helpful in answering our questions. We are very appreciative of their hospitality!

Baseball getaway

Everything about this house was perfect! We were coming up for a baseball tournament in the area, and it gave us the opportunity to be close to the fields and have access to go into Helen. We came up with a few families and a handful of teammates and would not have changed a thing! We cannot wait to come back.
