Stunning, self contained 2 bedroom mud brick cottage close to Mt Hotham!

A delightful self contained 2 bedroom cottage located in a high country of between East Gippsland and Alpine Region Victoria Australia. This cottage can sleeps (4) and surrounded by acres of semi bush, the cottage is ideal for nature lovers, ice skiers ( only during winter season) bikers, cyclist and bush walkers or simply, just a get away from the busy City! It’s good for people who wants solitude and peace!

The property is approximately 20 mins drive from Dinner Plain, 25 mins drive to Mt Hotham and Approximately 15 minutes drive to the town of Omeo. This property has the real feel of country living, with nice fresh air and quite surrounding.
The cottage is equipped with fully functional kitchen for your daily cooking and even baking if you need too . It has big fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, sandwich press maker, bread maker, dishwasher, stove top and big electric oven and cooking utensils.

The cottage is small however it’s cozy for small family with two children ages 4 yrs old and up or for 4 adult people. It has everything you need away from home, except you bring your own food to cook. Basic condiments, salt, pepper, cooking oil, etc is provided. Some herbs in the garden you can use. Please don’t pull herbs or veggies. Use knife to cut veggies leaves and herbs so they can continue making new leaves and I don’t need to plant new veggies all the time. Enjoy your stay.

(Important) Please close windows when you check out to avoid bugs coming in. If ever you saw some bugs I supplied bug spray, or use vacuum if you see any creepy crawlers.
Also our accomodation has no beautiful landscaping or garden, it’s raw and Rustic, it’s just natural landscape of Nature. You are Surrounded with bush and state forest. We will try slowly do some gardening but being far away and with pandemic it’s so difficult to do anything at the moment. What I offer is only accomodation, Go out and explore the Alpine and maybe you can appreciate the Alpine region, the mountains and the countryside.
Also, please don’t wash white towels with coloured ones, I noticed some guest wash it and turn my towels bluish instead of whites.
Please bring home all your rubbish upon check out, or throw it at the tip of Omeo. No rubbish collectors in the area. Also, NO unlimited internet, No Online streaming and gaming. Turn off all your running apps as it chew up data even if you are not actively using it once it gets connected to Wifi! if you are bored, we have plenty of board games and card games, use it instead. Or you can purchase your own internet connection, just let me know and I can contact my our internet provider.

The perfect cosy country getaway

We stayed at Mud Brick Cottage for 2 nights and we wish we could have stayed for 2 weeks. Everything about the property was great - we love to cook and the kitchen was amazing with all amenities needed. We played lots of board games by the fire, had baths, read in the hammock and loved everything about it. Thanks B for a great summer break

High Country tranquility

A wonderfully presented cottage with all expected modern comforts. The mud brick wall construction downstairs maintained a constant temperature regardless of the outside weather and the views from the front were perfect. A very enjoyable stay

Snow and horses

The property was clean and everything labelled to help us find things. It snowed while we stayed and it was magical to wake up to the tranquility that snow brings. The neighbour's horses visited us and ate carrots, they were friendly. The fire wood helped with the freezing temperatures although it stayed cold downstairs it was warm upstairs. We would love to stay again!

A perfect off grid cottage to relax after the slopes

The mud brick cottage was a perfect home away from home with all of the little luxuries. The kitchen is so well equipped and the huge dining table and fireplace makes it great for entertaining. The beds were so comfortable and it was beautiful waking up with the sun surrounded by nature. We will definitely be returning!

Such a lovely stay at mud brick cottage. Tidy house with everything you need and lots of unexpected extras. Beautiful views and plenty of space for the fur kids to explore. Brigida was a pleasant host as well. Looking forward to returning one day for a longer stay.

Well equipped cottage in a peaceful location

The accommodation description and past reviews were very accurate and made our choice to stay here very easy. The kitchen with well stocked pantry and all the appliances you could need (and more) was by far the best we've experienced in any holiday we've taken. Our host Brigida was extremely helpful with the various questions asked both before and during our stay. We were initially looking for a place close to Dinner Plain so we could take our dogs to experience the snow for the first time. This cottage was perfect for our holiday. A short drive to Dinner Plain and then all the pros of having a fully contained cottage on a large property. Also not far to Omeo for anything else we needed to top up on.

This place was so lovely. Had everything you could ask for. We did enjoy our stay. Only problem was the advertising. As per a previous stay around the area and deer hunting and high country river trout fishing listed, this was not the getaway I wanted. No hunting due to neighbours, cows, horses. No river to fish in??

Peaceful and beautiful

The cottage is beautiful and very well equipped. It's a great place to wind down and relax. Hotham Heights is a short drive away with great walks and lookout everywhere. Local shops at Omeo has all the necessities we needed. The house is well stocked as well. Plenty of wildlife around. Kangroos were a usual sight every morning and we could hear birds throughout the day. There is a herb garden next to the cottage which we used some for salad. The driveway to the cottage is slightly steep but you will appreciate it when you get to the cottage and see the view. Plenty of bed linen, blanket and towels provided by the owner. Also enough soap,body wash and shampoos. No need for basic stuff. You have it all there. The wifi also works really well. Telstra has a reasonable reception but our TPG phone was on roaming.

Beautiful, Cozy, Quaint Cottage

We absolutely loved every single moment of our stay in this cottage. It is beautiful, quiet, and cozy, and perfect for a getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is also apparent that a lot of thought have been put into making this cottage as welcoming and homely to its guests as possible. All items in the property are of high quality, such as the linens and towels and kitchenware, that it feels like staying in a luxury hotel but even better, its a luxurious, cozy cabin. We loved every bit of it and will make plans to come back.

Perfect getaway

This is a beautiful, relaxing cottage with lots of charm and extras like books and games as well as kitchen equipment. Beautiful scenery, tranquil setting with space for children to run around. A very relaxing home away from home, we would definitely return.
