Wow! What a find

2 weeks of travel, multiple hotels. THIS WAS THE BEST OF ALL Friendly staff, clean comfortable room. Homemade blueberry coffee cake, homemade egg,sausage casserole. About 2 miles off the interstate. Quiet but easily accessible. Nice outdoor pool. I would happily stay there again!

Comfortable over night stay

It is an older hotel that is clean & the interior has been kept up well. This was a good choice for an over night visit on our way to Colorado.

The hotel was very nice. Door to room was a little difficult to use. A/c noisy. Need more lighting only two lamps in room no overhead lighting. Plenty of towels(which was nice). Breakfast was very nice better choices than the chains. Pool look very nice.

First of all, do not believe any review that says this motel is wonderful, its not. It should have been called the “better than nothing” motel. If all you need is a quick place to sleep and then get back on the road, then this will suffice. If I had it to do all over again I would have found another place to sleep. However, the breakfast was fantastic.

Comfy and quaint ... very retro!

This is a very small town with a very retro feel. Kansas Country Inn feels that way too. Very relaxing.

Meh…

No frills but pleasant. Pool is good size with floating toys and cool lights, but pretty dirty including swimming bugs you find on stagnant ponds. Must not be chlorine… Inappropriate bed covering of a scantily clad female. Breakfast was hot and seemed homemade, but not many options for a non-starch-filled diet. No staff was restocking breakfast items. Cute gazebo.

The room was dirty-plastic ware behind the refrigerator- that didn't work well and next to the TV that wasn't plugged in-but did work but limited channels; dust on most surfaces. A couple doors down a dog was barking intermittently from our arrival till morning. The window cooler was not efficient; the sink drain plug did not work. The property is older, in need of many repairs and updates. ON THE GOOD SIDE: The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was really good: flaky biscuits . .sausage gravy, scrambled eggs with cheese & potatoes

Owners have clearly tried hard...

I chose this based on an 8.8 "excellent" rating and reviews and was very disappointed. The owners have clearly tried to update an old cement block motel, and there was new carpet and paint, and the bed was clean, but there was no desk, very slow internet and the bathroom was not excellent in any way. The breakfast was good and check-in was easy. Oakley is a very small town, and I wish I had pushed on to Colby, since the two recommended eateries were dive bars that were unsuitable for single travelers or a family. I would not recommend this motel, and take issue with its rating.
