Cozy and stylish home 2 blocks from Texas A&M University
This cozy home has lots of appeal with stylish modern decor. It is perfect for both families or just one or two and is definitely a home away from home. The comfort of home, with cooking utensils stocked to make it feel just like home where you can cook, relax and mingle. One of the favorite spots in the home is a darling reading cove designed for small children yet can draw anyone into the magical feel of the space. There is a nice patio which overlooks a generous size fenced yard to relax and entertain family and friends with oversized Jenga game and a horseshoe pit enjoy! STR2020-000051
The house was perfect for our large family. They enjoyed sitting on the back porch at night. Couples had the privacy of their own room. The beds were not really comfortable but we all liked the bedrooms. The decor was nice
A quick overnight stay to accommodate out of town family for graduation. It was important for all of us to have time together to catch up and rejoice in my daughterâs accomplishments. Accommodations were adequate and the location was perfect.
The house was amazing! We had our daughterâs Ring Dunk in the backyard. The outdoor space was great. They have horseshoes, axe throwing and ping pong. The backyard is huge! The house was great too. Itâs super close to campus. We really enjoyed our visit. We would rent again for sure.
Great location with ample arrangements for a group over 10 people.
Comfortable 1 night stay. Good size kitchen and rooms for a large group. Cute place.
Only recommendation would be disposable pot scrubber pads. Some of the stored dishes and silverware had caked on food. The dishwasher doesnât necessarily remove everything. Thanks for having coffee on hand and the duvets were super soft.
Enjoyed our stay. Thanks again :)
A bunch of old ags came to stay to go to an AM basketball game. The place is as advertised. Good location to campus, does have a shared laundry room with the back cottage but it was clean and great size for us.
I would stay again
Some TVs did not work and owner stated they would "try and find someone to help us." Heat kicked off/on throughout the night and we were very uncomfortable and couldn't sleep well. Beds were not comfortable at all and were noisy, which is bad for little ones trying to sleep. There are only two bathrooms, and both are downstairs. The hall bathroom has a broken knob and we couldn't bathe/shower so we all guests had to use a shared en suite which was a bad experience in itself. When we checked out, I contacted the owner again for a refund and I was offered a whole $50, which was an insult. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOUSE!! Actually, this would be a great haunted house for Halloween because its that scary.
Good location not too far from Kyle. House was so cute and lots of places for people to sleep. Check in was easy and communication was good. We would definitely stay here again.
Host sent one message thanking me for booking 2 months out. Didnât send follow up message about check in or any other info. Trouble contacting day of booking. Ended up responding post check in time.
Albeit, we had a great stay, though there were a few things that really bugged us. One of the rooms had a strange odor, and it turned out that there was an old piece of dried feces in the corner of the room. I thought this was just a one time anomaly until I slipped on what appeared to be old throw up in a different room. On top of that, none of the windows were locked, and some didnât have a latch to lock to; the refrigerator was not hooked up to water so you have to drink from the faucet or buy your own; the master doesnât have a doorknob and can be peered into; there were no convenient outlets in the bedrooms; even the tiniest movement made the master bed squeak. The host was also unavailable during checkin, so hopefully you donât have any trouble getting in. Overall, the stay was pleasant, minus the aforementioned problems that may have fallen through the cracks.
The house was not ready when we arrived. We arrived at 5:30pm and should have been ready at 4. The most important issue was the a/c did not work! Unacceptable! When I contacted the owner, her response was: âThis has happened beforeâ! Really? Why wasnât that mentioned in the description or as a possibility when we rented it! Nevertheless, I will NOT from this owner again. My recommendation is that no one else should either! Total disappointment from a person that uses VRBO regularly. đ€·đ»đ€Šđ»ââïž
The bed frame in the main bedroom was amazingly squeaky. We had to slide the mattress onto the floor because it was too loud to get any sleep. Tiles on the bathroom flood are pulling up so I put the bathmat over the top. The front porch steps are very slick when wet. May consider putting a big piece of red tape over the small step up right in the entryway.
Bathrooms were clean! Kitchen was clean! Bedding and towels were clean!! Love that!!
No problems renting, checking in, or checking out. One problem with wifi, solved within 2 hours. Plenty of beds to sleep 10. Kitchen nicely updated.
However, I would not recommend this for a family with young ones. Had to wait 30 minutes for cleaner to vacate (after the supposed 4PM access time). House across the road had dumped an entire house of belongings next to the street, and many "sketchy" looking folks pillaged that dump the whole time we were there. Did not feel safe. Floors and beds squeaky, expected for a very old house. A board in the living room is about to fall into the subspace. The house is split into like 12 levels, as if it was put together by a 5 year old with Legos. Living room couch is horrendous, no matter what it looks like on website. Could not even sit on it for 10 minutes without pillows; it's like a rock. The NOT PRIVATE back yard barely accessible without going through 3 doors and fighting the spider webs. Ping pong table water damaged and un-usable. Good location, tho!
2 teens and 2 adults were in our group that stayed here for TAMU new student conference. The house is very close to the campus, definitely walk-able for football games. Although we never cooked, the kitchen is very well stocked. Not sure if anyone was in the cottage, but we didn't have any problems with parking.
The location is perfect for a visit to Texas A&M - close to the school and plenty of shopping and restaurants close by. The home is well laid out for a larger group than 3, but we loved the space and having room to talk together or alone time as needed. We would definitely stay here again.
I was somewhat dissappointed before our arrival. I was unaware the fenced yard and laundry room(which was attached to the house) was a shared space. The driveway was also a shared space. I did not feel the house was clean up to my standards. I actually mopped one of our first days of our stay. There was laundry in the washer for a day or two that my daughter in law finally moved so she could wash. It was sheets ect.
I did feel like the house had good space for my family. The furnishings were good. My grandson loved the upstairs space. I truly appreciated a dog friendly property and would consider another stay but would definitely want to book both properties.
This home is perfectly situated in the best part of town, that is if you are visiting students on campus. It is quiet, peaceful and furnish with such charm. We enjoyed our stay very much and hope to stay again. *If you plan to make meals, the hardware is present, but no extra elements (so bring the Pam, salt & pepper, and other needed ingredients). Thank you!
