We loved the vibe of the hotel but you can tell it is a lower end hotel. It was close to the train station, so that was great, but a bit of a walk from old town. Although we didn’t eat the breakfast buffet (not included in the price) had a good offering. They did have free coffee and water at all times. The area around the hotel was a little sketchy, but we didn’t have any issues during our stay.

Overall our stay here was decent. The bathroom was clean and the room was clean. However we paid extra to upgrade our room and apparently all we received was a bigger room? But the room did not look like the picture of what it was supposed to look like. Also, there was no counter space in the bathroom and the way the shower is designed it made a complete mess on the floor. The staff however was very helpful and kind.

Room small but comfortable. Shower soaked the bathroom floor and could not be adjusted to prevent. Room far too warm and never below 24oC - reported to reception who stated the smart system was now set to warm mode but could not be controlled to reduce within the room. Area around the hotel felt a little unsafe- witnessed a multi police arrest within yards of the hotel entrance and lots of drunks and beggars around the hotel at night on the surrounding streets

Great Cologne Hotel

The hotel itself was lovely and a busy option. The staff at check in were lovely and was nice to have a small courtyard at the back of the station. We were upgraded at check in which was super! The area felt unsafe / rough around the edges so something to consider if travelling alone. The road it was set on had a number of restaurants / bars.

Friendly, comfortable. Good location

The staff were all very helpfull. The lobby had plenty of room to sit and work after breakfast was served. Te room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Everything I needed was only a short walk away.
