The white sand and warm azure waters of one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean are only 300 yards away. Mudjin Harbor Villa is the highest home on the islands of Middle and North Caicos Islands with stunning 360 degree views over the ocean, reefs and famous Dragon Cay. This is a luxurious villa set in paradise with 3 bedroom suites, an infinity hot tub facing the sea and sunset, Italian marble floors and 3 terraces - with beaches, snorkelling, whale-watching, bird-watching and fishing right on your doorstep.
The Space:
This spacious villa was built in 2006 as a luxury home for the owner of the estate, and we have been privileged to have it as our home for the last 10 months.
The villa is very well equipped for Caribbean living. Details of facilities are listed below as well as other amenities. If you are unsure about whether something is provided or would just like to check something in particular, please feel free to message me.
The open plan living and dining area:
A spacious open plan room on the ground floor with spectacular views along the coast in both directions. There are 3 comfy sofas, a large TV screen with DVD and surround sound system, and a weather station, where you can check the wind speed and temperature. There are also a number of puzzles and games for entertainment. The dining area accommodates 6 – 8 people and enables you to dine, while also enjoying the view.
The Kitchen:
A well-equipped modern kitchen for all your culinary needs. Situated on the ground floor, it has marble worktops and plenty of storage space for food and drink. It has all the comforts of home with a coffee filter machine (and cafetière) and other appliances: electric oven, induction hob, integrated microwave, large fridge/freezer, and a Bosch dishwasher. There is an island in the middle of the kitchen for food preparation which also houses a built-in food processor. There is a large, high quality, gravity-fed water filter which ensures that you have safe and chemical-free water to drink. (We much prefer this to the water you buy in plastic containers.)
The Master Bedroom suite:
This is a very large room upstairs. It has a very comfortable queen-size bed with the most spectacular view looking out to the sea in one direction and also towards the sun rise in the East. In season, you can lie in bed with your morning tea or coffee, and watch humpback whales breaching and long-tailed tropic birds swooping over the cliffs. There is also a pair of high quality 22x binoculars for your personal use on a large tripod, through which you can watch flamingos feeding in the local pond, or pelicans flying over the Dragon Cay.
As in the other two bedroom suites, there is a TV and DVD, with and 2 comfy chairs, 2 chest of drawers, bedside tables, a table with chairs to sit at, a fridge and 2 pieces of gym equipment. At the West end of the room, you walk through sliding doors onto the top terrace where you can lie in the sun on the two sun loungers or enjoy a sun-downer taking in the sunset. From that same balcony you can watch flamingos feeding in the local pond or pelicans flying over Dragon Cay. Through another set of sliding doors is an ‘infinity’ hot tub which looks north to the ocean and offers spectacular views of the sunset to the West. The spacious en-suite bathroom has extra cupboard space with a plentiful supply of towels and beach towels. There is also a basin sunk in a long vanity unit, 2 roomy walk-in ‘his and her’ hanging cupboards, a capacious tiled shower and a toilet separated by swinging doors.
East Bedroom Suite:
Situated downstairs, off the living area, this is a large bedroom suite facing east and north with glorious views and beautiful morning light. It has a very comfortable queen-size bed, bed-side tables, 2 comfy chairs, a fridge, a large chest of drawers and a walk-in wardrobe. The en-suite bathroom has a shower, a WC and sunken basin with built-in cupboard, along with a plentiful supply of towels and beach towels.
The Blue Bedroom:
You can access the West or Blue bedroom from a side door, or sliding doors off the screened terrace which also enjoys great views over Dragon Cay. It is equipped with a very comfortable queen-size bed, 2 bed-side tables, 2 chairs with a small table, a fridge, a large chest of drawers and a walk-in wardrobe. The en-suite bathroom has a shower with a long-tailed tropic bird engraved on the door, a WC and sunken basin, and a plentiful supply of towels and beach towels.
The Downstairs Toilet:
Just to the right of the front door there is a downstairs toilet.
Utility/Washroom.
Just past the downstairs toilet is the Washroom, which has a an LG front loading washing machine and a brand new Samsung dryer, which is for your use. You will find shopping bags provided here and also a large cold box for picnics at the beach.
In addition to the above, there is a Weber gas BBQ, a selection of beach chairs, snorkelling gear which you are welcome to use. The villa has Wi-fi throughout (except in the blue bedroom), and there is A/C in all the rooms apart from the living area, which has a number of fans and screened doors to allow the breeze to blow through. The large open plan living area has a surround sound system which you can access via Bluetooth.
The villa has 3 terraces on different levels, offering a variety of views of the spectacular scenery. One of these has large dining table and chairs, so you can eat ‘al fresco’.
If you need any further information or clarification, please do not hesitate to ask!
Guest Access:
The whole of the villa is yours, although one small upstairs room is closed off, as it contains all our personal possessions. The garage and other outdoor store rooms are not available for use.
Other things to note:
The water is rainwater collected from the roof and contained in a large tank. Consequently, we have provided a large, extremely high quality, water filter which is located in the kitchen. This can be filled with tap water allowing you to drink or cook with the water that comes out of the tap at its base. We far prefer this water to the water you buy in plastic bottles!
