Summary:

Partially renovated 3 bedroom, 3 bath Chateaux Condo. New kitchen and floors in living area. Outside heated pool, hot tub, sauna! On free shuttle route. Parking for 2 cars.



The Space:

This is a 3 bedroom Chateaux unit that is just across the street from the base area of Crested Butte Mountain Resort. The condo has been partially renovated with hardwood floors in the kitchen/dining/living room and a renovated kitchen.  Enjoy a nice fire after a long day skiing and hanging out in the nicely appointed living area or a cup or coffee on the deck as you contemplate your next hike.



The living area has comfortable seating for 5-6 with a couch and love seat. The dining area seats 6 with 3 additional seats at the bar top. Each bedroom has an en suite bathroom. The primary bedroom has a king sized bed and the 2 guest bedrooms have a queen sized bed in one and a bunkbed with a twin over a double bed as well as a twin stand alone bed in the other.



All of our kitchens are fully stocked with pots, pans, cookware and utensils. While most properties have salt, pepper, and basic cooking pantry items, we do not guarantee these will be available upon arrival.



The complex has an outdoor pool and hot tub as well as a sauna. This is a fantastic place to set up base camp while you explore all that the Crested Butte area has to offer.



The condo is on the bus route to the ski area and it runs through the complex every 20 minutes in the winter with 2 convenient stops on the property. The base area is also a short 10 minute walk away if you don't feel like waiting for the shuttle.



Please note that the pool/hot tub/sauna area is open seasonally.  Typically it is open in season - winter season opening day to closing day and then will reopen late May or early June through Labor Day. For summer 2025 the pool will reopen for Memorial Day weekend.  The pool will close after Labor Day but the hot tub will remain open for most of Sept.  Please ask if this is an important piece for you!



Please note that no pets or bikes are allowed in any of the buildings due to HOA regulations.  Renters will be fined $100/day by the HOA if you bring a pet or bring your bike inside.  Bikes are best stored in the front of the building in the bike racks (bring your own lock) or on your car.



The minimum age for all persons in this property is 25 years, excepting children (of all ages) with their parent or legal guardian.

The Neighborhood:

The Chateaux is about mid-way up Mt. Crested Butte and about a 7 minute walk to the base area.



Getting Around:

There is a shuttle that runs through the parking lot that will pick up guests and take them to the base area. From the base area you can get on the Town Shuttle which will take you to the town of Crested Butte.



Other Things to Note:

PARKING AT CHATEAUX

1. All authorized vehicles must be properly permitted by Association management prior to parking in the parking area. Permits must be appropriately displayed for easy viewing. Usual display of the permit is attachment to the inside rear view mirror.

2. Not more than two motor vehicles (cars, trucks, and vans only) shall be allowed on the property for each condo unit.

3. No motorized vehicles shall remain parked upon the property unless the same is in good working order and used for actual transportation.

4. No recreational equipment or trailers shall be parked, stored or maintained on the property by any owners, guests, or renters. Temporary parking, not to exceed four days, of such vehicles must be approved by management and be properly permitted.

5. Designated parking areas are the only areas in which parking is permitted. Vehicles parked in non-designated areas may be towed at the owner’s expense.

6. No commercial vehicles and no trucks shall be parked on any road within the Condominium Project except when temporarily engaged in transport to or from a condominium unit. For the purpose of this Rule, a ¾ - ton or smaller vehicle, commonly known as a pickup truck, shall not be deemed to be a commercial vehicle or truck. The exception to this rule is an emergency vehicle meeting the following criteria:

a) Any unit owner required by his or her employer to have an emergency vehicle at his or her residence during designated times AND

b) The vehicle weighs ten thousand pounds or less;

c) The unit owner is a member of a volunteer fire department or an emergency service provider*;

d) The vehicle has an official emblem or visible markings of an emergency service provider; and

e) Parking the vehicle will not obstruct emergency access or interfere with the reasonable needs of the other residents to use the community’s drives and parking.

Loved the 3-3 condo. Beautiful view, nice fireplace, new bathrooms and comfortable beds. Would definitely stay again. First floor with views from every room. The shuttle bus to the mountain was great but you could also walk if you wanted to. It was an off year for skiing because of low snowfall but everyone loved it anyway.

We loved this location and the proximity to skiing. An easy walk or bus ride. The place had a lot of room and good for young children. Very clean and well stocked. The pool was freezing so the kids couldn’t get in, but it was also very cold outside so that might be why. The hot tub was great except only lukewarm one of the days. It would have been nice to have the hot tub/pool open earlier hours than 10:00am when you have small children that want to do something in the mornings. Overall a great stay and we will likely book again here in the summer when we come again.

Loved the property! Close walk to the mountain, easy access to public transporation. We cooked all our meals on site and it was easy to take lunch breaks at the condo as well. pool has a sauna!

The condo was clean and well equipped. Beds were comfortable with plenty of setting in the living area. The only negative was the hallway to the condo was narrow, dated, and you could smell what the other guest were cooking.

Wonderful Labor Day stay

This condo is simply great- nicely remodeled and comfortable furnishings. Three bedrooms and three bathrooms meant that everyone in the group had plenty of room. The kitchen worked well for our group breakfasts each morning and the couches and deck were great for relaxing and hanging out. The kitchen could use another bigger fry pan but this is the only improvement I could suggest. The location was very convenient and parking was easy. You are on the bottom floor but minimal if any noise from other units. Great views of the Butte. Highly recommend.

Wonderful Family Ski Vacation at Bluebell at The Chateaux!

Everything was perfect: absolutely clean condo and the location to the slopes and the last stop on the ski bus!, the size was perfect or 6 adults with plenty of space to put all our gear, the kitchen was well-appointed with all the utensils /serving dishes/pots& pans/etc.for all the meals we brought to cook for our group (they even tried to get a water boiler for us, but was sold out in town!). Not only was the condo great, but Alpine Property Management was excellent - great communication prior to visit, checked in with us on day two, and extremely attentive to our needs and requests! We will definitely be coming back to this property!

Summer of 2023

We enjoyed the condo and only wished the pool was a little warmer for our 3 year old grandson. I really appreciated the lawn chairs and blanket so we could attend the two music events in CB. The condo had plenty of kitchen utensils and the beds we’re comfortable. We also really like how each bedroom had its own attached bathroom. The views of Mount CB were great from the deck. Thank you!

Overall rating? Excellent. First trip to Crested Butte, so renting at this property was a little bit of a shot in the dark. It is part of the The Chateaux condo complex, which appears to be five buildings and has a pool, hot tub, and gender-segregated saunas. The exterior areas and exterior hall areas of The Chateaux complex are dated, but well-maintained. Pros: The unit was large, clean, and exactly as described on VRBO. The price was good for what we received. The appliances all worked as expected. The furnishings were not worn. The heat and hot water were excellent. The small balcony was pleasant. The fireplace was an excellent amenity and the firewood provided at the condo entrance was abundant and bone dry (critical in a wood fireplace). There were many pots, pans, kitchen utensils, etc.. Negatives? None, really. Small suggestions: The addition of a 10 quart or larger pot for making large pasta meals would be helpful. Be aware: The hot tub is very small and serves all The Chateaux buildings, so at times it's going to be packed. Overall? As I said, excellent. We would definitely rent again.

This was a great property and had everything we needed for our family of 6 with 2 kids. Free shuttle bus into town was right outside. Kids loved the pool and hot tub. Crested Butte is amazing and we would definitely stay here again!

I like how there is a bathroom with each bedroom. Everyone had their own space and privacy. The beds are very comfortable! The hot tube and pool were great for post skiing. The location is great, the shuttle to the ski base was very convenient. Overall, very nice and functional!
