The lodge was ok, but just not worth the price paid. Quite small and close to the road (which could be noisy). The room was dusty and tea cups not clean. The TV mostly didn't work (I believe it's a low signal area, so bring a book). Staff were helpful and friendly,
We stayed here for two nights and felt cosy even in the storm which started the night we checked in. I was bit concerned for the heating and facilities for it being a one room lodge with what seems not the most cold resistant insulation around windows and doors. BUT I have to say that never we felt cold as heater quickly warmed up both room and bathroom, and it stayed so.
We absolutely loved interior of our little room. Location is very convenient, too - just off the not overly busy A road and the fact that we were able to park our car just in front of our lodge.
We checked in quite late that day and first we missed the place. Be careful as navigation might take you to a nearby cottage under the same name which also happens to be on the same side of the road about 2 minutes down the road. If you find yourself in front of little private road - you are in the wrong place (like it happened with us). Turn around and go towards the big round about (not local, so I cannot remember how its called, but it is something that's easy to spot on maps).
All our stay was lovely. We went to eat in the restaurant/pub that is on the same premises, and were very happy with or order. Praises to the chef for lovely soup of the day and haggis bites - just what we needed after long and cold day on the road.
Definitely would come back again.
The proprietors were the nicest couple. The cabins are tiny, but well appointed with most everything you need. Having TV was great, very affordable, restaurant was excellent. Pizza was very good. All my best to this couple in their business.
Quirky cabins that have a double and single bed, very clean and well equipped. Food available two minutes walk away were you can also get breakfast. A family business well worth supporting and we would return, we sadly only spent one night at the end of our Scotland adventure.
The lodges are really lovely and so cosy. The bed was unbelievably comfortable with really soft sheets and great pillows. The bathroom is compact but has everything you need (including a heated towel rail). The lodges are a little small but for two people itâs cute and cosy.
The staff were friendly and check-in/checkout were really easy. Location is a little out of town and food options are limited.
No wifi but our 4G worked fine!
It was about the only accomodation where it really felt like a holiday. It felt safe and somehow home. It was very clean and nicely arranged. I did not like though that the heater in the bathroom was so hot that the room was very warm and I could not see something to turn it down. But then my clothes dried better.
