This was a great home with beautiful surroundings. Our team enjoyed staying here as it was clean, peaceful, and safe. The host did a great job communicating with me leading up to our arrival. I would highly recommend for groups intending to do some team bonding.

Plenty of beds for everyone! No futons or couches needed to sleep. Built on beautiful, large, secluded property. No neighbors to worry about all the noise from the pool which everyone enjoyed frequently. Spacious dining tables which were great for family games after dark.Two minor things that need attending to. One table bench was wobbly, appears to be cracked. The kitchen trash frame is loose from it's frame which made opening and closing it difficult. We ultimately put the trash bin at the end of the counter instead of under it out of sight.This is a remote property so a trip to a grocery store or looking for a forgotten bathing suit is a bit of a drive.We were a family of 14 and it worked well for us. We had a great time!

Large family winter vaca

We had an absolute wonderful time! There is SO much space it was perfect for 17 of us. Tons of kitchen tools to use. I didnt even find them all until the last day. Kids (teenagers and young adults) had a blast sledding (sleds were found in garage) down the hill out back and down the driveway. Large garage (3 car) for letting all their winter toys dry off. The only bad thing was that the ceiling leaked in the basement (between the 2 bunkbeds) from the main bathroom (shower) on the main floor. That caused us to not use that shower but there were 2 other showers to use so that wasnt a problem. (That is the only reason i gave an overall rating of 4 stars.) I contacted the owner about it and he was responsive. We would DEFINITELY come back and would even consider renting in the summer as there are lots of summer activities that you could take advantage of. 100% recommend this home for large family/friend gatherings!

Awesome spot for large group

The house was as advertised, and perfect for large groups. The property and surrounding area is beautiful. Our group of ice fishermen did well on McCollum Lake, be ready to move to locate the fish, but there is quite a variety of fish for an inland lake. Walleye, Perch, Bluegill, Crappie, Sunfish and Pike were all caught. The locals on the lake were very friendly. Our group has been renting properties for fishing trips for years, and I am confident in saying this home offers some of the best perks (Numerous beds, plenty of space, plenty of parking, beautiful area, good fishing). Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway, especially for those who need room for a large group.

Wonderful Cottage For Extended Family Get-Togethers

Our planned Christmas get-together just wrapped up and we thoroughly enjoyed our time at this "Christmas" cottage!! Plenty of room for all 4 families for sleeping, playing, eating, playing games, making crafts, and a nice location for getting outside for fun times there too. We enjoyed the use of an extra refrigerator, and for the garage as an extra indoor play area. The caretakers of the house were very friendly and helpful with any house concerns that we had. Thank you for allowing us to use your Christmas cottage for the special time we had there to make memories for our whole family!!!

Great family getaway spot!

We stayed here with a big group of family/friends (4 couples and 12 kids ages 4 - 14) and had room for everyone plus plenty of activities to keep all of the kids entertained for a long weekend. The pool was a big hit and the lake is perfect for paddle boarding and kayaking + a great scenic view!

Great family vacation

Great time had by all. Lots of yard for kids to play. Large driveway for cars or kids to ride scooters on. Kitchen and eating area had lots of room for all 14 of us to eat together. No problem with sleeping areas, plenty of beds. Pool was a huge hit, lots of time spent at the lake fishing.

Very nice home and great host!

The house itself is very roomy and the layout was perfect for a group of 14. A big hit (and something new for us) was having a pool on the property. EVERYONE Loved the pool! The property outside is also very spacious and well-landscaped and provides ample parking for our six vehicles. The kitchen was very large and well-equipped for all our cooking needs. Additionally, we had use of a large garage and extra fridge to keep food, our coolers, and beverages which was a huge bonus. The interior of the house is well done and had a lot of upgrades and work done to it when Victor purchased it. Unfortunately, a few days before our vacation the central AC stopped working. Victor contacted us right away and offered a full refund and disclosed the part may not be in until Wed. or Fri. of the week we were there. We decided to push on and try to make it work with a combination of fans and air chillers. Unfortunately, the windows did not have blinds or curtains and the windows were finicky to open so cooling the house in the evening and trying to keep the sun out during the day was impossible. In the end, Victor graciously refunded us 50% of our money. The AC issues and part delivery were out of the host's control and he worked with us to best manage the issue. Victor was amazing and very responsive to all our communications. With a fully functional central AC, I would recommend this property. Victor was one of the best hosts I have worked with in the years I have been renting homes.

The property was very nice, rooms were spacious and lots of gathering space. Unfortunately we ran into some issues with the pool and air conditioning but Victor was very responsive and worked with us to make it right.

Very large house

As we drove up it looked like a 10, big house big driveway/parking area . Noticed the gate into pool area was cattywampus ,4x4’s holding the gate were not doing their job . The lock box worked fine and a quick check of the house looked great . Walked downstairs and almost fell when I reached the last step , it was quite a bit different than the rest of the steps and did not meet code. Checked out the kitchen and was surprised to see how many plates , glasses etc.there were. The rest of the gang showed up and all were happy with the house . Due to the female/male ratio one had to sleep in the walk in closet. It was listed as a bedroom however there was not a window to allow egress in case of a fire , another code violation. Finally there was no smoke alarm in the hallways or the bedrooms themselves. I know somewhere in the fine print it states if you want a smoke alarm bring one with you but in case of a fire fatality a lawyer is going to get a large settlement. For the most part every thing worked as it should but when the temperature reached 81*we turned on the air conditioner and a weak tepid stream of air came forth . When the inside temperature reached 80* and the outside had dropped to high 70* we found the screens and put them in place . This is when we found that the windows were a bit quirky, they opened fine but could not get them shut . If we took off the screens and applied a pulling tension on the frame while cranking them in we could get most of them shut.Most

Overall Peaceful

The home was beautiful and very peaceful. Being able to jump in the lake was relaxing. The pool was not open yet so I wish that we had booked later in the summer as it opens Memorial Day. Host was very responsive, had some trouble getting in to the home at first but the host worked hard and fixed the problem and created a lovely stay for all 14 of us. Would stay here again.
