Lovely place to stay but disappointed with the dishonesty at booking
We booked this property for our family of six. After paying via VRBO I sent a few questions. At this point, I was informed that we needed to pay more money for the six of us (despite putting in a reservation for 6 people). I contacted VRBO and they told me that the lodge was not allowed to do that but didn't do anything on our behalf. I contacted the property and asked for a refund and was not given one. Before our stay we stopped by to talk to them in person and were assured that all was well with our booking. At checkout, with them in possession of our passports, we were told we needed to pay the extra amount that was stated in the email. Because there were other properties near by that had fees similar to what we originally payed upon booking I find this to be quite dishonest. In 10 years of using VRBO I have never had something like this happen. Unfortunately, this overshadowed what we did enjoy about the guest house.
