Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains along the Chestatee River, H&J Riverhouse is your ultimate rejuvenation destination. Just twelve minutes from historic Downtown Dahlonega and within easy access to the area's many wineries, hiking trails, and waterfalls, H&J is the perfect base camp for couples retreats, celebrating major family milestones, or reconnecting with the great outdoors.

H&J offers four, full-sized bedrooms on three levels and three and one-half baths, comfortably accommodating up to eight adults. The well-equipped kitchen and over-sized farm table invites lazy dinners at home and the screened in back porch is the perfect spot for an afternoon nap or morning coffee.

The backyard offers stunning rushing river views, 575 feet of waterfront trails, lounge seating, a fire pit for cookouts and keeping warm, and horseshoe pits for the competitive spirit. Just a short hike across the footbridge, The Overlook provides quiet reading and napping options under a huge natural rock.

Our family had an amazing week in this charming cabin! The porch on the river is truly paradise with the sound and clear view of the rapids. There were great views from all of the rooms and the bedrooms were large and well furnished. We had excellent response from our hosts every time we had a question. The trip to town was very easy once we learned to navigate the mountain roads. Magical!!

This home was perfect for our girl’s weekend. It was very clean, decorated beautifully, and it had everything we needed. We grilled out one evening and had a charcuterie on the screened porch. It was a perfect place to eat and be able to listen to the river below us. We look forward to coming back again.

Had a great stay, Everything was as advertised, really enjoyed the sound of the water. So peaceful on the porch. Beds are comfortable, kitchen was accommodating cooking for 8 peiple. Loved it and plan to return.

Communication with the host was great. The beds and linens were very comfortable and everything we needed was provided. Listening to the river was one of the highlights. The screened in porch was a perfect area for us to have our morning coffee and breakfast. The area is quite beautiful. The drive to the property is not for the faint of heart. Very narrow road with nowhere to pull off but thankfully we navigated with no problems.

We had a great family reunion and the river and surrounding area was beautiful. Some in our group were much older so navigating the inside and outside steps and terrain was difficult for them. Overall, we had a great time and loved our stay, but this rental is more ideal for a younger crowd.

The home is beautiful and the location was wonderful. How could you not relax when you could hear the rushing river the minute you stepped outside. It was close to town.The communication with the owners was the best I’ve ever encountered. I would love to return in the future.

A nice peaceful stay with family. My favorite spot was the screened porch, which offered a bug-free place to see and hear the river. One thing I appreciated was that it offered seating for as many people as it slept, which is not always the case in some places; it has a nice long table for dining and games, and plenty of chairs around the fire pit.

Great river getaway!

Great location close to town but out far enough you feel like you are truly getting away. It sits right on the river with a 'beach' area to wade in and splash around which was fun for our whole family. Lots of outdoor entertaining areas which was important to us. The owners texted us so they were easy to reach should we have needed anything. We would definitely stay there again!

Perfect spot for girls weekend

This property was very comfortable for my mom, sister, daughter and myself. It was just a quick getaway to the mountains for a little shopping, dining and potter painting. But, we wanted somewhere "close to nature" and this was amazing. The river rushing outside the back porch is beautiful and impressive. Our hosts were very communicative and the whole exchange was easy.

Christmas in the mountains

Had a great family Christmas in the mountains. Property is a little slice of heaven, so quiet and peaceful. Plenty of room for the 7 adults in our family. House is super cute, clean and cozy. Would definitely rent again.
