The property itself was clean and well-maintained, but unfortunately, my overall experience left a lot to be desired. I initially paid $100 through Expedia, with the understanding that the remaining balance of $214 would be due upon check-in. However, after a long day of traveling, I arrived only to be told by the front desk that I owed an additional $400 — far more than I had budgeted for.
The front desk staff tried to explain that because I booked through Expedia, the $100 was considered a deposit, and they "don’t do deposits" on their end. In an attempt to help, the staff member took my phone — which was open to my bank account — and began scrolling through my transaction history without asking. Although he did confirm the $100 charge, it took about 15 minutes of back-and-forth before he went to speak with someone in the back. Eventually, he returned and said they would wait until the charge cleared the next day, which it did. They then processed the correct charge of $314.
While I appreciate that the issue was ultimately resolved, the situation was unnecessarily stressful and could have been handled with more clarity and professionalism.
Additionally, my room key repeatedly stopped working. When I returned to the front desk for help, a different staff member seemed dismissive and offered no real assistance. The issue continued multiple times, making what should have been a relaxing stay feel like a hassle.
