Rustic Lakefront Log Cabin Retreat w/Pontoon included Memorial to Labor Day

Brand New Listing! Beautifully renovated 1940's rustic log cabin retreat on Lake 26 in Danbury, WI. Originally built in 1940 as the main lodge for Idle Wild resort, this historic log cabin will take you back in time for your stay. The entire cabin has been recently renovated to provide for your every comfort and modern convenience. Gather and relax by the lake, on the deck, or in the large screened porch overlooking the crystal clear Lake 26.

The screened in porch connects the (1940) traditional log cabin to the newer (2006) annex. There are four bedrooms, two located in the main cabin with king sized beds. There is a loft with TV and two twin pull-out chairs, a couch, and a futon. Also in the main cabin are one bathroom with tub/shower, a well equipped kitchen, and cozy family/dining room with a wood burning fireplace for the colder months. Vaulted ceilings with beautiful old log cabin charm and a screened in porch and deck. There is even a bench on the porch that converts to a bed for the more adventurous sleeper! Gorgeous views of the lake through the red and white pines.

In the annex addition, accessed by the screened in porch, you will find the third and fourth bedrooms. One bedroom with a queen bed and another with two twin beds and one bunk bed. In addition, the second full bathroom with shower contains a washer and dryer.

Amenities include the use of 3 paddle boards and 2 kayaks in order to explore the 250 acre lake with it's multiple bays to fish or observe the abundant wildlife. Pontoon comes with 8 standard sized life jackets. Please follow WI state law for fishing licenses and wearing life jackets while using any watercraft including paddle boards and kayaks. Lake 26 has great fishing for bass, northerns, muskies, and sunnies.

Rustic heaven
This was a super cute rustic paradise. Super quiet lake that my family vacationed at for the first 20 years of my life, was great to visit 30 years later. Would definitely recommend.

Wisconsin Paradise
This property was perfection! It is beautiful and clean. The lake was great for fishing and playing. Everything we needed was there waiting for us. All the "extras" exceeded everything we could have wished for. We can't wait to go go back!

Beautiful lakefront cabin
The property was perfect for multiple families with separate living spaces. Best sunsets I’ve ever seen looking west over the lake. Plenty of activities for kids and adults between the pontoon boat an paddle boards/kayak. Everything was great. We will Definitely try to book this property every year

Family vacation!
We had a great long weekend stay! Beautiful cabin, great views, fun on the water, good fishing, Pardun’s canoe rental on the St. Croix- (Jerry’s the best) and beautiful trails! So much to do, lots of nature to see! We will definitely be back. Owners did a great job communicating with us and the place is fully stocked - really enjoyed the cabin esp the front porch.

Wonderful Layout!
When you pull up to this cabin it looks quite rustic - which made us a bit nervous. Coming to the lake side on the deck and going in quelled all fears. It is kind of 2 cabins connected by a 3-season porch. For a mixed group it is a really nice arrangement. Going into the historic cabin, the living spaces, kitchen and loft are really nice. The kitchen is very nicely appointed with a grille right outside on the deck. Everything you need for cooking and grilling is there. The 'annex' cabin is 2 rooms and a bathroom. The bedrooms are comfortable and clean. The bathrooms are nice (also clean) - the main cabin has 2 more bedrooms and a bathroom, and the loft upstairs is a nice getaway if you need it. We spent a lot of time in the 3 season porch which was the perfect size for chatting, playing games, and eating for a large group. Outside, the dock and sandy bottom swimming area was great - and easy for launching the kayaks and paddleboards. The pontoon is very nice. We used it for fishing in the mornings (decent fishing lake - northern pike, bluegills, sunfish, bass) and took evening cruises around the lake. The fire pit has new furniture and enough seating for a large group. Summertime s'mores, some beers, watching the sunset and listening to the loons is what north lake country is all about. We dont typically repeat cabin rentals as we like to move around - but we WILL be coming back to this one.

The BEST cabin/lake/northwoods getaway!
We LOVED every minute of our stay at this delightful place! It was incredibly clean, furnished perfectly, had ample sleeping for our family of 5, the perfect kitchen with all the tools we needed, lots of outdoor places to sit and dine, a BEAUTIFUL screened porch where we drank coffee every morning and ate dinner every night, a picturesque zero-gravity, sandy lake entrance, and a lovely boat to cruise around in! Absolutely recommend 100% if you're looking for a family (or friends) get away! Looking forward to when we can rent this very special place again! Cant say enough aobut how memorable our experience was!

Magical Cabin on Crystal Clear Lake
This isn't your typical cabin... it has the details of a traditional log cabin, but the modern amenities for a family. Our hosts thought of every detail to ensure we had an incredible experience. From charging stations on each nightstand to the immaculate pontoon, there wasn't an amenity lacking at the property. It is large enough for a big family, yet has intimate and private spaces for each person to retreat and relax. I cannot describe the indelible memories we created during our week at the cabin. P.S. I highly recommend you book this cabin, and be sure to ask about the tiny "cabin gnome" above the fireplace! :)
