Within 200yds of Beach, renters will have the pleasure of staying in a Beautiful Home. Daufuskie Island is unique in that it does not have a bridge. Visitors, renters and owners travel from Hilton Head or from Savannah by Ferry (45 mins.) to the Island. One of the best things that we have to offer is our on island manager, Karla. She will help you with everything before and during your stay. We will help you with the Logistics.
There is something about a charming beach cottage that is absolutely irresistible, don't you think? The stunning hydrangea blue siding, white trim, nautical touch décor, and windows that let in the sound of crashing waves, what's not to love?
This comfortable cottage is endearingly named "Beach Haven". We think everyone should have a "haven", so why not one on the beach. From the moment you step inside, you'll be swept right off your feet.
At just 1600sf this adorable seaside getaway is located on the charming island of Daufuskie, South Carolina. As you enter the front door you will quickly see that the "open living" floor plan makes this cottage feel much larger than it really is. (Please see the pictures.)
But wait until you open the French doors and take a look at the 12'X 30' screened-in back porch. It is not only decorated with wicker furniture, and a marble top wrought iron table, but there is a very unique walnut swing bed. Of course, on the back landing is a gas outdoor grill. This spacious back porch is nestled in a grove of live oak trees, dripping with Spanish moss. It gives you a tree house feeling and it overlooks the 6th green and the 7th tee of the Bloody Point golf course.
The upstairs is totally devoted to the master bedroom and master bathroom. It has a sitting area and a walk-in closet to make you comfortable.
Under the house you will find another deck for your pleasure. There is an outside shower with a place to wash the sand off and two bikes, beach chairs, boggie boards, skim boards, beach games and toys, all for your use.
Because of liability issues we cannot allow you to use our golf carts. So, we suggest you rent a golf cart for your stay on Daufuskie. We can help you arrange this and it will be delivered and waiting for you. Also, we will help you with the logistics of the Ferry trip to and from Daufuskie and any other transportation needs. Part of the adventure and uniqueness of Daufuskie is getting there and then exploring the Island in a golf cart. What fun!!
Since the beach is just 200 yards from Beach Haven, it is just a short golf cart ride, or bike ride, or a short walk. This is great for early birds to take in a stroll on the beach before the rest of the house awakes or the convenience of running back to the house to get something you forgot, or the bathroom, or maybe fix a beach lunch.
Also, within walking distance in the opposite direction from the beach is the historic Bloody Point Lighthouse. It has a gift shop for unique and special gifts, food items, and wine! There is a video room which features a short historic video about Daufuskie and the Lighthouse. Outside is a very interesting garden area with horticulture examples of the Island's Plantation farming history. And, a viewing area to look at 3 bald eagle nest. Beach Haven is within 500 yards of five nest and eagles and other birds are wonderful for bird watching.
Our guest book will give you all the details of places to go, eat, see, and do. You can be as busy as you wish or as relaxed and rested as you want. Just sit back, relax and enjoy this fabulous adventure on Daufuskie Island.
The sleeping arrangements are as follows:
Upstairs is completely devoted to a master suite. A full size bed is in front of Easterly facing windows, giving you a view of the ocean and spectacular sunrises without getting out of bed. And, the master bath is stunning. Downstairs is a full bathroom and a den/second bedroom with a queen size Murphy bed. It's brand new and very comfortable. Also, there is a queen size sofa bed in the living room. Even though it appears that this cottage sleeps quite a few, we recommend 4 guests. However, we will be happy to entertain your request for more guest. Just message us.
I left out that we have fiber optics high speed wifi. And, our TV is a smart TV.
