We stay in Deal often - this was one of the very nicest cottages we have come across. The stairs to the top floor are extremely steep so something to bear in mind!
Skimming Stone was a perfect cosy weekend retreat for us, and our small dog. Very clean and well appointed, it had all we needed for our stay. The living areas and main bedroom are very comfy and the en suite bathroom excellent. We enjoyed the log burner in the evenings. It is very well situated for local pubs and restaurants. The stairs to upstairs are steep and probably not for the infirm or very young. Highly recommend!

Excellent cottage in great location
Lovely Cottage in a great location - everywhere in walking distance. Took the 82 bus to Dover Castle (it stops outside). Excellent visit full of history. More tourist information leaflets on site would be good.
Made good use of the outside courtyard space for eating out (serenaded by sparrows!). Very comfortable bed and seating (although the sofa was a bit deep for my short legs!). The spiral staircase was fine for us fit and active 70 year olds but might be a challenge for the less fit. Well equipped kitchen.
