Great location inside Death Valley National Park. Also very good steakhouse in the saloon. Negatives: very packed to the point of overwhelming a exremely friendly staff. Lines at check in and ice cream store were tough for some families with small children. But the ice cream was worth it as were the food arnrestaurants on site. Great view of mountains and a nice town square park.

The location is of course amazing, right in the heart of Death Valley. And the accommodation is quite nice, up to a good standard. The service is unimpressive. Almost nobody we interacted with seemed enthusiastic to be there, and prices were eye-watering given the product received, even taking the remote location into account.

Meh….but you’re paying to stay in the park

Meh….they have you because if you want to stay in Death Valley and not pay a fortune at the INN or not stay in a slump motel this is your only option - not worth what you pay but again you’re paying for the convenience of being in the park and centrally located. Pack and bring food/snacks and then you don’t have to pay for overpriced food on the resort. Ice cream for 2 was $18 - not sure if it’s California that is the rip off or just the resort. FYI - you complete a link which asks your checkout time and we still had housekeeping knocking on our door twice in the morning hours before we stated we would check out.

We stayed in the Casitas which was very nice. The thing I disliked about staying there was I went and tried to charge something in the general store (on the property) and they would not let me (or anyone) charge the purchase to the room ( i did not have my credit card at that moment so could not make the purchase. Nothing major, just a policy that I think should be changed.

For being out in an area that is isolated from a city or town you can enjoy your time seeing many historical sites! We learned many things while staying here for 3 days and 2 nights. The food was better than I thought!
