I'm writing this review to express my extreme disappointment and frustration with a recent booking experience with Expedia. My friend booked a room for his family (wife and 8-year-old child) through Expedia, but the experience turned out to be a nightmare.
After booking, we called the property to confirm, only to be told that they no longer handled the property. We thought this was an honest mistake and contacted Expedia's customer service team, who assured us that we would be taken care of and asked us to reach out to them in case of any inconvenience upon arrival.
However, when my friend arrived at the property between 11:00 pm and 11:30 pm, just before the check-in time ended at 11:30 pm, the hotel staff denied having any record of the booking and refused to accommodate my friend and his family. Despite having a confirmed booking, my friend was left with no choice but to call Expedia's customer service team for assistance.
The customer service team failed to provide any meaningful help, leaving my friend on hold for over 2 hours (until 1-2 am) without a resolution. Eventually, my friend had to book another property for his family, which was a huge inconvenience.
When I called Expedia's customer service team to request a refund, I was met with a lack of empathy and unhelpful responses. They claimed that they would investigate the matter but no help received yet.
I would not recommend this property to anyone and I just wish I get my refund back as it's my hard earnedđ°
