We only stayed one night. The room had plenty of space, the bed and bathroom were lovely and clean. The owner was very friendly and showed us to our room.
The shower was fantastic, nice and powerful. The wardrobe was a little quirky and awkward to use. I could not get the TV to work at all, but I brought my laptop so wasn't really bothered. I had a great mobile signal so used this for internet and TV on my laptop. Lots of easily available electrical sockets for charging phones and laptops, which is always handy.
The really big plus was the fab breakfast made to order. Absolutely fantastic. Would return in a heartbeat, highly recommended.
Wonderful stay room was very spacious not the one we booked but was very impressed with the size and comfort
Ate dinner in the restaurant which was very good nice selection of beers at the bar and the breakfast was exceptional thank you for a wonderful stay
Quiet with excellent dining options, high ceilings in rooms, well-equpped bathrooms. Staff helpful. No desk in room for working, some cracked plaster in room but very clean and well-appointed.
This is a real gem of a hotel. Beautifully decorated, excellent rooms and service. The evening meal was very, very good as was the complementary breakfast. We couldn't recommend the hotel enough.
Amazing stay. Lovely, welcoming hosts and the food was out of this world. My only niggle was the mattress was a bit soft but it’s not stopped me booking for next Valentine’s Day!!
A warm and cosy stay while we celebrated a friend's 60th. Staff were very welcoming and allowed us to use a projector to watch the rugby, as there was no TV in the bar. (Which we would normally like!) Breakfast was tasty with fresh, local ingredients cooked to order. Would definitely go back again!
The hotel was lovely. The owners and staff are all friendly and efficient. Compliments to the chef .. the food was wonderful and plentiful. Apart from a problem with the boilers which was fixed, the room was very comfortable.
Really lovely nights stay in the Curzon Room. High ceilings, big comfy bed, well equipped and spacious. Bathroom had a lovely roll top bath and powerful rainfall shower.
The whole building feels warm and cozy, well decorated and looked after.
We didn’t eat dinner there but the breakfast was excellent. Quality produce used, attentive staff, great range of choices for a BnB all well cooked. Perfect poached eggs.
I can see why this place won Four in a Bed. Would certainly return again.
Stayed for one night in the Kedleston suite.
Greeted on arrival by very professional, friendly staff who made us feel welcome.
The room was lovely, clean and spacious with good facilities and good quality fixtures and fittings. Bed was very comfortable, slept really well, although the room was on the front of the property we weren’t disturbed with any road noise.
Unfortunately we stayed on a Sunday and the restaurant is closed but would have loved to have tried an evening meal there.
However we had drinks before going for a meal at the Joiners arms which is literally half a mile away.
Breakfast was incredible very well presented and really tasty ingredients.
The hotel itself is presented beautifully and with it being so close to Christmas the decorations made it even more special.
Lovely stay can’t wait to book again.
Excellent venue and only 10/15 minutes from Derby city centre
Beautiful building bedrooms exceptionally clean and comfortable and furnished very well.
Food was excellent and value for money
We stayed in the Kedelston room which was a lovely cosy room tastefully decorated and had all the extras that maybe required. Iron, ironing board, hair dryer, toiletries and sewing kit.
The bar offered a cocktail menu along the usual drinks you would expect.
We dined in the restaurant which had a nice atmosphere. The food was good quality and tasty and reasonably priced.
All in all we had a very pleasant stay and would recommend this place to others.
We have a lovely stay at the Kedleston house while attending a wedding near by. Room was nicely spacious and clean. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Breakfast was cooked on order and the portions were quite generous. Ample parking on the way.
To the usual old country home style the rooms were heated quite warm, which created a nice cosy environment against the british autumn weather outside. However for some it might make it a bit too warm to sleep well.
The house is also surprisingly close to a road, which if your room was on the road side and you are a light sleeper, could cause some issues.
We're looking to come back again in the future to visit Kedleston hall, which is easily accessible just across the road.
