This was a really nice place, and we got a great rate through Travelocity. The check-in and check-out staff persons were both extremely courteous. No surprises on the bill - we were charged the exact (and very reasonable) amount that was calculated on our reservation - no hidden fees. My husband enjoyed using the gym. It's great that this hotel is attached to the Skywalk. Walked all the way to the Hyvee Hall without going out in the rain. The only peculiar thing was that I could not find the hair dryer which is supposed to be one of the room amenities. Maybe it was in the closet somewhere. No problem for me as I didn't wash my hair, but I assumed a hair dryer would be "standard issue" these days, and I didn't see one on the wall.

While hotel staff was friendly and often tried to help, my stay was subpar -- reflecting that the Hyatt brand is no longer a premium hotel brand, but rather a second or third-tier hotel brand akin to Red Roof Inn. The bathroom had mold, the sink was clogged, room cleanup and replenishment was spotty (left used coffee cups, failed to leave new coffee packs, didn't leave a new ice bucket liner), and TV never worked properly (the maintenance man admitted to me that the hotel has had TV issues with several rooms, mine being one of them, which they haven't fixed). If you want to pay for a premium brand, stay at the nearby Marriott. If lesser quality is fine, go anywhere but this Hyatt and save some money.

"Upgrade"

Upon arrival, I was informed that my room had been "upgraded" due to the fact that they had given my room to someone else- you probably shouldn't book rooms that you don't have. I booked a room with 2 queen beds. I needed 2 beds because I was traveling with another male adult, who happens to be a larger person. Roughly 350 lbs. we were upgraded to a suite with a single king bed. Fine for my companion, but also meant I slept on a pull out couch. The hotel refused to do anything other than give me a $25 voucher to use at their overpriced deli/bar that wasn't super impressive. Upon paying $250/night for horrible breakfast and sleeping on a couch- I wouldn't recommend anyone book a room unless you want to receive the opposite of what you asked for. I didn't pay that much to sleep on a couch. The other hotel services were great. The employees were extremely helpful- with the exception of the manager, who also refused to face me. Had I been traveling with family this would have worked. There was a reason that I wanted 2 beds. Travelocity was only offering a $50 voucher. I could have stayed at a much lower priced hotel and actually slept on a bed. Lesson learned I guess

Nice motel

I was excited to stay at the "Hyatt" we were on a special overnight weekend. I was VERY disappointed in the room. The sofa had a rip so that's a piece of junk, TV wasn't working properly!! Was just overall looking for a very very 'fancy" experience!! Very disappointed!!!
