The living area is beach-facing, features floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding glass doors, and offers plenty of space to gather around the flat-screen TV. The spacious beach-facing patio is perfectly furnished to allow for entertaining or dining while taking in views. The dining area has seating for four with an additional seat at the breakfast bar. The fully equipped kitchen includes full-size appliances and all the cookware and dishware you could need for creating memorable meals.

The master bedroom has incredible views and private access to the beach-facing patio. Complete with a king bed, flat-screen TV, and private ensuite bathroom, the master bedroom was designed with relaxation in mind. The master bathroom features a walk-in shower and plenty of vanity space. Just steps from the living area is a half bathroom.

The room was great. One thing that wasn’t disclosed in detail was the shower, you aren’t able to see pictures of it clearly in the listing which is strange because it was a very spacious walk in shower. My wife and I were very pleased with the facilities. The resort is excellent other than the curfew which was imposed strictly on the amenities such as the pool and hot tub that is exclusive to our building. We were frustrated about that and I would say that would be the only negative we had there. The walk to the beach wasn’t a problem at all and it was great being in a gated area, it was much safer feeling and the freedom to come and go as we pleased wasn’t hampered by the security. The bed was comfortable and the extra half bathroom was nice. One negative about the half bath is that the toilet had a hard time flushing. The value is excellent for what we’re wanting, it’s in the best part of Destin in my opinion and for the roughly 1,150 we spent for 5 nights I felt like it was a great price. Also Compass Resorts- the vacation rental company that owned our condo was incredibly helpful with answering our questions and helping us make sure we were well taken care of. I am the primary renter and am 24 but after taking to them and explaining that it would be my wife and I, that allowed us to stay regardless of the minimum age policy. We had a great trip and look forward to using Compass Resorts again.

Great Honeymoon!

I found this condo last minute on VRBO and it did NOT disappoint. Great location. Loved all the amenities. Great private beach area. Close to everything. I highly recommend staying at this location.

Great location!

Silver Shells is a fabulous beach resort. Staff is friendly and helpful. This particular unit has a half bath and washer/dryer which are not reflected in the pics or information. A bonus.

Other than being on the beach and a very nice pool area this was not a good stay. The bed was super uncomfortable for me and my wife. Probly won’t be staying at this location again

Gorgeous room

The room and facilities are very nice and recently remodeled. I wish I knew there was another property obstructing a beach view. Also we were on the back row for the chair service all week, that is a dealbreaker for me next year.

Just What We Needed

The condo was beautiful. It was nice to have an extra half bath that we didn’t know about. We loved being next-door to the Back Porch. The drawback was that we weren’t able to walk out of our sliding door and down to the beach or to the Back Porch, we had to go out the front door, through the parking lot and back around. Also, I think that reserving the pool chairs should be better explained because our situation did not work out as we had planned. The guys told us that if we came down there every morning at 9 AM, they would put us in the front row as close to condo as possible. On our second day this was the case but on the third and fourth day we were right on the public beach line which was a long walk from our condo. We wouldn’t have minded if we had known, but, they had told us they would put us in the same spot for the rest of our stay and they did not.

Smoking allowed throughout the property. No health club or spa onsite at resort. Construction noise at the main pool several days. Gas grills were not maintained.
