This 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo features a spectacular view overlooking the bird sanctuary, the jetty and sunset. You can sit on the balcony with your morning coffee and watch the fishing boats go out and end your day watching the breath-taking sunsets. You are just steps away from the sugar white sands and emerald waters of the gulf coast. Unit 418 has been totally repainted and redecorated, including new living room furniture with a sleeper sofa 48' TV, double glider reclining loveseat and a swivel rocker recliner. Also, newly upholstered dining room chairs and bar stools. New master bedroom bedspread w/32' TV, as well as new decor in the unit. Guest bedroom has 2 twin beds and 20' TV. You are assured a comfortable stay during your dream vacation in paradise.

The overall stay was good. The unit could use some cosmetic updates. They were some candy wrappers on the floor of one of the bedrooms when we arrived. Not a huge deal. But could make someone question cleanliness. The pools,hot tubs and ocean access were great. The kitchen was stocked nicely for cooking needs.

Could be so much better

Room (418) needs a deep clean..room was not vacuumed when we arrived. Size of room is great but it is in need of a deep cleaning and new furniture. Location to beach is excellent. However they have 2 pools/Jacuzzis and they should designate one for adults only or make one Adults only in the evenings as they were both always packed full of kids.

Quiet getaway

Clean, no frills roomy apartment was perfect for our get-away. The secluded patio was a plus; gated parking, shopping carts to bring in supplies, attended front desk, full kitchen and only the distance of probably a block to the beautiful beach made it a great stay.

GREAT location

Last year, we stayed at a hotel in Destin & the trek to the beach & finding parking was a nightmare. We selected this location to avoid all those issues, and our vacation was very much a success! We LOVED the location. Just a short walk to the beach & everything was beautiful. Loved the activities available for kids. Loved the free beach service. The unit we selected (#418) was affordable and as advertised. It needs updating (part of why it was so affordable), however there appeared to be black mold on the ceiling in multiple rooms, and we did have a large cockroach visit us in the bathroom. There was an old notebook full of entries of previous guests, but it was literally full since 2018. So the place kind of seemed somewhat neglected that the owner wouldn't even put in a new notebook. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the Islander, but I will probably book a different room.
