The hotel was great, I loved the safety of having to have a room key to enter the building after a certain hour and having to have a room key to enter and use the elevator. I would’ve given a perfect score but the parking was across the road in a public parking deck. The charge was $25 per night to park. The walk to the hotel at night made me feel really uneasy. You walk down an alley where there are clubs then cross the street to the hotel. When paying the price of the hotel, parking shouldn’t be off the premises nor should it cost $25 per night. The staff was wonderful. Very polite. The room was spacious and great for anyone traveling with children.

Overbooked or just randomly canceled?
This review is for both Homewood Suites management and Hotels.com...I booked a room two weeks in advance on Hotels.com. However, when the date came to check I was informed by the desk personnel that my reservation was cancelled and there was no room available. I did not make this cancellation nor did I recieve notice that my room was cancelled...UNTIL AFTER I HAD SPOKEN TO MEMBERS FROM BOTH SERVICES. After no explanation from the hotel personnel or Hotels.com service agent what happened to my reservation since I did not cancel it...I was then offered a "last minute availability" at TWICE THE PRICE I originally booked room for!!! This was the worst experience I have ever had booking a hotel. Both of you need to get your stuff together or you will lose customers quickly!

Nice hotel but fix the driveway bottleneck
Problems with making our keys and an elevator out if service caused delays at check-in. We couldn't unload luggage because the drive was blocked by cars parked at the entrance to the driveway. A sign asking guests to pull all the way through before coming inside would help. At check-out the drive was blocked with a hotel shuttle van and what appeared to be an Uber. We had to wait to take our luggage to the car, meanwhile tying up a luggage cart because the parking lot is down an alley which was blocked by the vehicles in front. That said, the staff was cheerful and doing their best, although they allowed a guest to leave their car blocking the drive while checking in, waiting for the one busy elevator, and taking luggage to their room. But the room was very nice. The breakfast attendant was very pleasant and helpful.
