I am a frequent traveller to Avani. Stayed here over 50 nights. Unfortunately this time I had an awkward incident when one of the staff at the reception showed a terrible level of lack of basic knowledge related to stay-in guests. I had my nephew stay over for a couple of nights and while checking him in the receptionist claimed totally meaningless false information that there is a difference between single and double occupancy and refused to register him as a guest but rather a visitor. Although I complained to a senior the next day and he was super apologetic. The very next day while I was in the pool a security lady approached me and questioned why my nephew is using the pool which left me super frustrated and embarrassed. The fact the Avani staff lack basic knowledge related to check in was shocking and appalling in all honesty

Rated 4 stars overall as the staff member on reception who greeted us upon arrival was unfortunately not welcoming and was dismissive. It took a lot of prompting just to get a response. It seemed apparent that he didn't like being asked questions nor did he want to be at the reception desk which we understand can be stressful at times of high traffic. The questions asked were basic ones around hotel services on offer, breakfast availability (which was part of our booking). Each time we saw this staff member his behaviour didnt change even when he made eye contact and we greeted him- it wasn't returned. The overall check-in experience was pretty poor because of this. It's important to have staff greet travellers appropriately and share information with them in a welcoming and warm way, especially those who've travelled so far- it can make all the difference. On the contrary, the rest of the staff including concierge and door staff, especially Sundeep Singh, were most helpful, respectful, and went out of their way to support with anything with a warm smile. The other ladies and another tall man at the reception desks were also very welcoming and said hello/Good Morning etc. The bathrooms in the lobby were a bit with no tissue one cubicle. The rooms were kept spotless, and the female cleaning staff member was very kind, and helpful. The restaurant was nice with a basic range of items. Not many pure vegetarian options as hot meals for the price, but pastries were delicious.
