Studio KATE is beautifully renovated and restored apartment (40m2) in 2009 and located in the heart of the Dubrovnik Old Town. It means they are just a short stroll to the Stradun, cafes, churches, museums, the old harbor and beaches. Studio is tastefully decorated and consist of ante room , living room with comfortable double bed for two , kitchen and bathroom. Kitchen is fully equipped, and bathroom has washing machine and massaging shower. There is also LCD TV, hair dryer, iron, ironing board, free wireless broadband Internet connection. Studio Kate can be connected with our another apartment Ivo in one big apartment ( 80 m2 ) on two floors, up to 6 persons. The apartment is located on the third floor and it is necessary to use the stairs inside the house. The house is 400 years old and is a cultural monument under the protection of UNESCO (like all buildings within the city walls). During the renovation, strict rules on the protection of cultural monuments must be respected, and that is why the entire house is made of wood and stone. By staying in the house, you can feel the spirit of the past.
Liked having a washing machine in the apartment. Did not like the many steps (85). Also, with different levels requiring keys to lock and unlock doors, could be a fire trap. Really didnt like the Irish Bar across the street whose customers made loud and partying noise until wee hours of morning. Kate, owner, is like very person
The location of this property is better than expected. The hosts were clear in their communications and greeted us upon arrival.
Make this place your command center for exploring Dubrovnik.
Apt. Kate was clean and neat. Maro and Kate did a nice job of welcoming us. The location was great but along with the Strudum comes the inevitable noise, not a factor the owners can control. The down stairs units were owned/manged by others and we had a problem with a very stubborn door two flights down that had been locked from the outside. We had to pass through it to get out of the building and it was very difficult to open from our side of the door. I left a note on the door not to lock it because it was definitely not safe in case of a fire or emergency. Although the apartment itself was wonderful, I would not stay there again but would find somewhere quieter.
The property was clean bright and airy, and in lovely condition and well equipped for two to self cater if you wanted to do that which we didn't.
Access to the studio is via 3 sets of short stairs that may not be suitable for those with mobility issues.
As it is in the centre of the action don't expect it to be quite, but it wasn't bad It didn't bother us.
We were met by Kate outside the old town wall. She was extremely helpful during our stay.
Would like to return again.
