Gooseberry Trailside Suites - Encampment Suite offers a relaxing, cozy and updated place to stay while you explore all the North Shore of Lake Superior has to offer. This property borders Gooseberry State Park, the most popular state park in Minnesota, with access to the Nordic skiing and mountain biking trail system right out the back door. Guest can also jump onto the Gitchi Gami State trail for those who want to bike or rollerblade on a smooth paved trail with access just across the road.

With the close proximity to Gooseberry Falls and Splitrock Lighthouse, as well as Two Harbors, Duluth and Lutsen, there are year round opportunities to venture out to go hiking, biking, skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, sightseeing, swimming and much more!

Great for groups both large and small, there are 4 - two-bedroom, one bath apartment style suites on the property that can be reserved individually or together. 4 plex was close to the Falls and a beautiful drive along the lake. I would have preferred the upper unit as we could hear the people above us.

Perfect Location - Clean - Comfortable - Charming
This cabin was fantastic! The location can't be beat. Just minutes from Gooseberry Falls and Split Rock Lighthouse. The access to the bike trail across the street was fabulous. It was a short 25 minute bike ride to Gooseberry Falls. The beds were comfortable with nice linens. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking and enjoying a meal. The gas grill was a bonus. The living space was cozy and pleasant. The outdoor deck and fire pit were very nice. The bathroom was clean, with plush towels. It was perfect for our long weekend get away.

Great Stay for small family
I had read reviews about the noise and it wasn't bad the first few nights. The last night was a new group and it was much louder. They weren't considerate of being on the top floor with people below them. Other than that, the stay was great. It was clean and in a great location. It was a great size for a family of four. The shower is very small which was harder for small kids and the shower head didn't move. There wasn't any plastic bowls or silverware, so we had to make a trip to buy some, but it wasn't a big deal.

Overall nice, but loud and ant situation
Overall it was a nice place to stay. There was a few things that could be improved like unfinished ceiling in the bathroom. When we arrived we found a bunch of ants in the bathroom (they assured us this is the first time). We called and they sent someone to vacuum it up. Ants periodically were coming out, asked for a vacuum, so they sent a big person out to spray. Brought a vacuum out for us to use the next day. We were in the bottom unit, that night the people above us must have gone to the bathroom every 2 hours. It sounded like a herd of elephants above us. Honestly the loudest I have ever heard neighbors in comparison to hotels, timeshare, etc. The next evening was better as the neighbors did not get up as frequently. Kept us all awake the first night, except my littlest child. Again, nice during the day, as other noise does not allow you to hear your neighbors so clearly. Also, could only hear them walking-not talking, etc.
