Modern Log Cabin - Incredible Views - 3 Min to Purg - Private Hot Tub

Our custom built 3,000 square foot, 4 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom cabin is located in Hermosa Meadows, which is the custom residential neighborhood next to Cascade Village. This residence is less than 2 miles north of Purgatory and 26 miles from downtown Durango.

This is a rare opportunity to rent a new luxury home yet have access to the free on-site amenities at Cascade Village including a scheduled ski shuttle in winter, an indoor heated pool, sauna, outdoor/indoor hot tubs, pool table, outdoor tennis court (summer/fall only) and a ski rental shop (with discounts) . The home is immediately adjacent to national forest land with hiking, cross country skiing, mountain biking, four wheeling, fly fishing and a host of other outdoor activites just out the back door.

This residence features amazing views of the Needles Mountains, the signature range of 14,000 foot peaks the Purgatory area is known for, as well as Spud and Engineer Mountains. Brand new furnishings and a private hot were recently added as well as remodeled bathrooms.

3rd Bedroom - King (2nd Level)
4th Bedroom - 2 sets of bunks bed (single over single) (2nd level)

Please note, due to HOA regulations, all properties at Cascade Village are NOT pet friendly.

The house features paved access so 4WD is NOT required on winter.

All of the Cascade Village properties are equipped with reliable Fiber Optic internet service with an average internet speed of up to 50 Mbps. In late 2020 Cascade Village moved from cable TV service to all streaming services. While in-house, guests can stream their favorite movies and TV shows on their preferred provider (e.g. Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime) using the smart TVs in the unit. With fast and reliable fiber optic WIFI, guests can stream on multiple devices.

As with all properties in the area, the condo does not have AC, given the day times highs are rarely above 80 while the lows are in the 40s. Open the windows after the sun is behind the mountains, and then close them in the morning along with the blinds that face west. This will keep the house plenty cool.

Book at least 5 nights and a discount will automatically be applied.

Overall, nice stay!

Overall, our stay here was great. The home is exactly as pictured, wonderfully decorated/designed, comfortable, easy to access, and the kitchen was well stocked! From a cleanliness perspective, it appeared the floors hadn’t been swept/vacuumed/mopped, and some of the sheets were stained.

Great house

This house had everything our family needed to be comfortable, clean.. well stocked in the kitchen (only improvement would be an air fryer) the management team was quick to respond to any of my questions. It’s super close to purgatory but yet feels secluded. Don’t count on the shuttle service, it isn’t as available as we had thought.. but we didn’t have an issue dropping people off at purgatory ourselves due to how close we were. Overall would book this house again!

Cascade Village Stay

The home we stayed in at Cascade Village was satisfactory with a few exceptions. The home wAs large enough for our group with plenty of bathrooms and living room seating. It is also in a great location. The ping pong table and extra sleds were a nice touch for the kids. Our problems with the home were the lack of cleanliness for one. It has not been properly cleaned in sometime. There were dead flies in windowsills, in the kitchen and on the floors. It just didn’t look like the house had been cleaned well. Also, we didn’t feel that some of the beds had been changed as there were hairs in the beds and crumbs. The washing machine did not run a rinse cycle and has probably been that way for some time. The site explained that the house was very well stocked and I disagree with that. The kitchen doesn’t have a lot of utensils. Overall I give the house a 4 out of 10. I myself wouldn’t stay here again even with the few pleasantries. If it was cleaned well

Amazing home and views!

My sister and I have been taking our kids on vacations for the past few years to somewhere different everytime. When we were kids we used to vacation to Purgatory so we wanted to take our kids up there too. This rental was definitely the most equipped we have stayed in! The house is beautiful and the kids absolutely loved it! My sister and I spent every morning reading on the back deck. The views are just breathtaking! And it is in a great location right in between Durango and Silverton. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us! It was definitely a vacation to remember!

Wonderful place. Was a good distance away from Durango but we wanted to be away from it all.

Great property! Kids had fun watching the marmots on the property. Funny, bus driver back from Silverton mentioned them on the way back, evidently they are famous! Was a great time we needed!

Beautiful property

This vacation home has everything you need for a wonderful time away. There was some construction going on that made it a little noisy but overall the scenic views and great weather made it worth it! If I would add anything to this property it might be a mosquito zapper, they were out in force and bug spray wasn’t cutting it! Hope fully the next guests will get to meet the family of furry critters that live in the rocks out back, they are adorable. We would definitely go back to this location as long as they don’t overbuild in the neighborhood.

Family Vacation

We had a wonderful time!! Our extended family of 11, including 6 adults and 5 kiddos stayed for a week. The house was perfect for 3 separate families, each having their own space and bathroom. Then the open living room and kitchen area with plenty of seating made a great gathering space. They had all the supplies we needed already at the house. i.e. soap, TP, paper towels baggies, laundry soap, bath supplies ect. There were gorgeous views of the stars, mountains and meadows. Durango was about a half hour drive and a fun town. Silverton was the opposite direction and was a breath taking drive. All in all it was a terrific experience.

Summer Break

Great place, short walk to indoor pool. Lots of wildlife Moose, Elk, Deer. Purgatory is a Mile away. Lots of activities at the Resort. ATV, Alpine slides, and other items. The house is situated close to the road but was quiet and peaceful. Lots of deck chairs provided. Good internet, kitchen amenities, and great views.

This property is well managed, easy to get in and out of, and in a beautiful area. Felt like home and had all we needed. Be sure to go out on the porch at night and view the stars. You won’t see that many stars in the city.

Beautiful cabin

Just what I was looking for to celebrate my 40th birthday. Very beautiful location and super spacious for all 12 to move around. Did have one issue with the water heater but as soon as I called the property manager they immediately helped us resolve the issue.
