I only gave it 5 stars because nobody reads the 2-star reviews, which is what I would have given this hotel. You walk into the "lobby" and see all these "awards" on the wall and start to think that the 1960s-esque exterior is just a facade. Wrong. We got to the room, and it was like a studio apartment. Well, more like a studio of a studio apartment. Somehow, it seemed smaller than a Motel 6. The bed was meh. The pillows were BABY-sized pillows (seriously. They looked like little throw pillows from a couch.) You couldn't open the bathroom door all the way because the sink was in the way. The TV was about a 24" TV that was much too small to really see well while laying in bed. If you sat on the foot end of the bed, well, it was better. Our keys didn't work when we first arrived. Neither one. The room also smelled like cat pee, so we had to open the window for a couple of hours to try to get the smell out of there. It was nigh impossible to make a left-hand turn out of the parking lot due to the amount of traffic on the highway next to the hotel, which made a lot of noise. Anyway, I wouldn't stay here again. For what I paid for the place, I expected better than this.

This property was within walking distance of the Animas River. If you are fully capable, it is walkable to the historic downtown area. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The AC was difficult to operate and I don't think we ever got it running. But in June the mornings are still cool and crisp, so we didn't really need it. The guy who handled our check-in gave serious drill sergeant vibes. When we asked questions about the area, he gave us a snide response. When my husband asked to go to the hot tub (locked area), he was rushed and questioned. The person working in the morning was so much more pleasant.

Comfortable and clean .I dont know if the fan was left behind or put in the room but came in very handy. Im the type of person that sleeps with a fan on so when we came across it, i slept like a baby. I would like to give props to whomever idea that was.would definitely stay again.

Affordable place to spend a couple of days

Overall, this was a good place for our family of 6 to stay. We had 2 queen beds and a pullout couch. The room itself was a good size, but with one bathroom, it was a little tight. The building and inside decor is a little dated, but comfortable.

Property was clean, and well kept. Big bonus points for providing a stocked bike wash station, which was super convenient, and very much appreciated. Location is a bit of a walk from downtown- and along the highway, which would be my only complaint (can't blame the hotel for that).
