Beautiful historic hotel

Beautiful historic hotel right in downtown Durango. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Loved the historic aspect but with that comes smaller rooms, older wiring (i.e., no ports for charging cell phones), and limited (no) amenities (no pool, restaurant). Highly recommend if you don't mind missing out on modern comforts. Plus side is you are right in the middle of everything as you walk out the doors.

Good location, clean, good staff, good breakfast. Lots of train noise. Be careful when booking. Inside rooms are gloomy with no windows. Be especially careful not to be next to the elevator!

The staff was great, friendly and helpful. However, I was placed in a room with no windows. it was pretty unsettling to be waking up at 8 am in a pitch dark room. Very uncomfortable feeling. Whoever thought it was acceptable to sell windowless rooms should spend a few days in one.
