Room was lovely with good amenities, although there was a loud noise, possibly coming from the air con, but it's an old building so we expected it to be a bit querky. Our stay was amazing! We arrived just before midday and reception were very friendly. Janet was very helpful and rang us an hour later saying our rooms were ready which was a brilliant surprise. Steven in the bar was a brilliant host and very friendly. This hotel is absolutely stunning and immaculate. Would definitely stay again, 5 stars!

The hotel building is fantastic. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely although I did have to request some extra lighting which was brought to us with half an hour. The bed was so comfortable and the shower was brilliant. Excellent stay.

The building itself is beautiful. Comfortable and clean bedroom and bathroom. Lovely relaxing bar and dining areas. Very pleasant staff throughout our stay with good customer service. We would have rated excellent until I observed cobwebs on the light shade/wire just above a dining table. This was in easy reach and should have been dusted.

Hotel is very nice and in a very convenient location for Durham town centre. Room was adequate although we found a few problems with it. Bed was very high and hard, there a few lamps that did not work, one being the desk lamp and the another in the bathroom.
