Limeni, an extremely charming, small sea side village, with a wild landscape. Rocks, hard white stones torn by the sea and the wind. A unique place in every step of each fortunate visitor. It's the small harbor of Areopoli, the pirate port of the bay. Where the famous greek pirate Petrobei Mavromichali leaved. His palace, which has been turned in a museum, where now days painting exhibitions take place.
Areopolis, 5 km from Limeni, the capital of the area, is the heart of the peninsula of Mani , with its medieval past, with a lot of legends and traditions, town of Ares, ancient god of war.

Limeni it’s a place for all year around :
There are amazing Byzantines footpaths among canyons, olive forests, naked hillsides arriving to small Byzantines churches, monasteries, venetian castles, beaches with beautiful and very clean waters.

The bay where Limeni is situated, has been inhabited since the Neolithic period (4500 – 2700 BC approx.) Very close to the famous Caves of Diros, one of the most important in Europe, with its splendorous colors, stalactites and stalagmites, containing an underground lake which you can visit with a flat bottom boat.

Walking through ancient ruins with lovely mosaics on the way to Cape Tenaro, the southernmost part of the Peloponnese, where you can find an automatic lighthouse. Visiting the most dramatic village of Mani, Vathia, with the deserted stone towers .

During summer you can swim to impressive beaches like at the bottom of the peninsula, Marmari and Porto Kagio with its fabulous waves, or to the small private island of Kotronas passing through a strip of sand , to the very charming Nimfi between high rocks.

To the bay of Limeni very often we swim with the company of the turtle Careta Careta and we are diving near a venetian shipwreck, dating since 1700 ac approx. You can rent pedalo, canoe, wind surf. In a distance of 40 klm you can visit Mystras, the famous monasteries in Sparti, in 80 klm you can reach Monemvasia the medieval city and castle of Peloponnese, the beautiful Nafplio and the Mycenaean tombs for one-day excursions .

Our house is located just beside a byzantine monastery, in front of the sea, where all around the year you can admire a very romantic sun set seating in the garden. During summer you can swim just in front of it. The nights are splendid with a sky full of stars and fabulous moon light . You will feel in a world where happiness and joy of life reign supreme.
