Overpriced and i wont stay again

I have stayed here for many years. This will be my last stay. Bad sleep each night i stayed as the glass building makes loud cracking sounds with the change in the weather!. Add to that a TV that didn't work and a crazily overpriced breakfast. Dakota, you need to up your game!

The hotel is modern and clean. The staff was courteous. The hotel is a 15 ride from the airport. I booked the room because it said shuttle on the hotels.com website. When I asked about the shuttle, I was told it was not in service that week and they could order a cab for me. There are no dining areas within walking distance of the hotel. If I needed to stay at a hotel near Edinburgh airport, I would opt for one closer.

Our only complaint was how long it took to get a drink in the bar. Waitress took our order, but it took almost 15 minutes to actually get our drinks. We were the only people in the bar. We were going to have a few drinks, but after the wait we finished our drinks and left.

Upon arrival at the Dakota Hotel, I found it an odd. It was square with black windows all way around it. When you enter the front door, there are theatre curtains to enter into the lobby. The room was small and modern and clean. The food, both breakfast and dinner were very good. The staff is what made my stay really pleasurable. It was my last stay in Scotland before returning home and I found it easy to make it to my day tours by bus and taxi really easy. The staff went out of their way to help me send a package back home and I really appreciated it. Well done!

Staff were exceptional - friendly and professional, really made me feel welcome, and went above and beyond expectations. The room was brilliant - good air conditioning, very clean, nice range of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, very comfy and firm bed with great pillows. The hotel was immaculate and the breakfast was superb (only improvement suggestion, a wee bit of haggis added to it would have made it just perfect).
