The CampAway is approximately 4 acres and houses two 1/bed 1/bath cabins - The Big Dipper Cabin and The Little Dipper Cabin. The cabins are connected via gravel driveways or hiking trails and are approximately 60 yards apart and separated by elevation and trees. Guests of both cabins have access to the Tickanetley Creek via hiking trails. The hike down to the creek from the cabins takes approximately 5-10 minutes via dirt and rock trails and should be a moderate hike for most children and adults. These are true hiking trails and may not be suitable for everyone. Being true mountain cabins, pests and bugs may sometimes make their way into the cabin even though we do spray and inspect monthly to keep them outside.

Perched on four wooded acres with private creek access and backed directly by the Chattahoochee National Forest, The Big Dipper is a quiet, camp-style escape designed for couples who want to unplug and slow down. In fall, the woods put on their best show, surrounding the cabin in layers of red, amber, and gold as crisp mountain air settles in.
Guests love the stillness here. Listen to the creek below, watch leaves drift through the trees, and spend cool evenings gathered around the fire. It feels tucked deep in the forest, yet you’re an easy drive to Ellijay and Blue Ridge for apple orchards, wineries, hiking, and small mountain towns made for wandering on a fall afternoon.
Inside, the cabin is intentionally simple, grounded, warm, and thoughtfully lived-in. Vintage camp character blends with modern comfort around a massive stone fireplace, relaxed seating, and a well-stocked kitchen meant for slow mornings and shared meals. It’s the kind of place where conversation lingers, time softens, and quiet hours are spent padding across wooden floors.
