Loved it! So affordable, fantastic views, spotted a moose, walked the streets with a coffee in hand taking in the glory of the old west, parking was a breeze, fantastic thrift store shopping, a nearby hike along beaver creek that IS appropriately named (youâll spot a beaver), donât bother eating at Ottoâs (over priced, musicâs too loud), will say the coffee could be stronger at the Hand BUT the rest of breakfast was tasty and well attended to. The charm of the building alone takes you back to grandmaâs house. But seriously, The Hand Bed and Breakfast was magical. Book it if you can.
Wonderful, quaint restored hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful and rooms were cozy and comfortable. The dining area and sunroom were a pleasant place to eat a get breakfast.
The Hand Hotel is a gem! Incredibly people and pet friendly. Every single staff member was kind, personable, and helpful (seriously, like old school Colorado people). The hotel was clean, quaint, inviting, quiet, and fun. Great set up, great reading nooks, great fireplace. We loved everything about our stay!
This is a very cool restored hotel. It is lovely and they have done a good job of making it feel homey. Because it is old, the walls and ceilings are very thin. We were kept up late one night because the people next to us were talking so loud. I called the front desk and then walked down to the front desk but no one was there because it was after hours. After an hour and a half of listening to them, I finally banged on the wall and they got quiet. Also, we had a queen room, which was very cute, but there was barely enough room for the two of us to move around. Walking through the hotel, I could see that some of the other rooms are much larger, so you may want to opt for something bigger. Fairplay is a quaint, historical mountain town and we loved the nearby shops and restaurants! Also, the hotel breakfast was lovely!
We stayed so we could be a little closer to Breck for a couple days of skiing. My boys loved the bunk beds in The Outlaw room, the breakfast, and Hazel of course. The staff was great, especially Mike. We will look for any excuse to come back in the future now that we found this hidden gem!
The hotel is historic, cozy, quaint. Lots of cozy sitting areas to relax in peace and quiet.
The staff are incredibly friendly, helpful, hospitable.
My room was clean.
Close enough to the ski areas to be woth the affordable price and little town of Fairplay. Historic hotel with great lobby with fireplace for lounging. You wont be sitting in your room because its small. Be prepared to open a window because it got hot. Better than cold! Breakfast included with croissants, eggs and breakfast burrito etc. Good!
It is a quaint and historic hotel right on the old main street. The staff were fun and accomodating. The breakfast was great. Our room was comfortable with a lovely sitting area outside our door. The views of the mountain and the river were gorgeous.
