Worst Hotel Hospitality in Portugal

The staff were terrible. We had travel issues and when I called to modify my reservation, with dire need of support. Sara from reception was rude and condescending. She refused to let me speak to the manager, Antonio, or even try to help.

2nd time staying, as good as we remember!

Stayed May 24, for 3 nights, had a great time so booked a 4 day trip July 25. The rooms are never available before 2pm so always hectic if you want to check in then. Stayed in room 305 with balcony overlooking the marina. Lovely room. Had an issue with the door not shutting without slamming. On one occasion we returned to our room approx 3:30pm and found the maid had not shut the door properly! Not great really!! Rooms cleaned daily, although they never replenished the milk sachets in the fridge so had to get some from breakfast to take to the room, also didn’t clean the coffee mugs. Only a small thing, Staff on reception were fantastic Roof top terrace amazing, always lots of sun loungers available and a huge pool. Very reasonably priced. Large beer only €5 (same as everywhere in Faro. Breakfast was wonderful, fabulous atmosphere with pianist playing daily. Great choice and good quality! Lovely 4 day stay, and we will definitely return! Obrigado!

The hotel is renovated recently and fairly nice looking. The staff was a little wooden in greeting us and provided no information about the hotel or surrounding area at check in. The room was big by European standards and was well kept. The safe was a nice thing to have in the room. The bathroom was ok. The hotel was well located close to buses, trains, the waterfront and restaurants. The pool on the roof top was nice although it could have used a little better upkeep.

Staff were amazing my wife had a medical emergency involving a 10 hour hospital stay. We visited the pool bar on our last night, very disappointed it appeared the barman had his friends round for a Rap session.

The property and the staff were great although i thought the rooms were a bit sparse . Both the breakfast and the evening meal were buffets and unfortunately the food was only luke warm. There were good areas to sit dotted around the hotel and the view from the upstairs bar were spectacular

Ticked all the boxes for us apart from the pool, which was surprisingly inaccessible for many. As it is often a bit of a hub and something normally enjoyed by many, I was taken aback by the poor quality, bordering on dangerous. It would singularly put me off going there again.

Nice hotel but the top pool area is very run down and the toilets were filthy. The food at thd pool is very expensiveand poor value. Our room was clean and comfortable and the breakfasts very good. The staff are brilliant and keen to help with any problems.

Disappointing Stay - Not Worth the 4-Star Rating I recently completed a 7-day stay at this hotel, and unfortunately, it fell far short of expectations. What was marketed as a 4-star experience felt more like a budget accommodation with premium pricing. The Problems Cleanliness Issues: The room maintenance was subpar throughout my stay. The shower was dirty upon arrival and remained that way despite housekeeping visits. Countertops were consistently dusty, giving the impression that proper cleaning wasn't a priority. I specifically requested shower gel refills multiple times, but my requests were ignored - unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one claiming 4-star status. Unfulfilled Promises: The hotel advertised complimentary wine for guests, which never materialized during my week-long stay. When promises are made during booking, they should be honored. Mediocre Breakfast: The breakfast offering was lackluster at best. For the price point, I expected much better quality and variety. Honestly, you'd be better off skipping it entirely and finding a local café - it's simply not worth the value. The Only Positive The sole redeeming quality was the hotel's convenient location, which made getting around the area relatively easy. Final Thoughts 7 days was far too long to endure these conditions. The experience was a constant reminder that star ratings don't always reflect reality. My advice: Do your research thoroughly and stick to the most recent, detailed reviews.
