The Blue Anchor - a beach house that sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms

The Blue Anchor is situated on Blue Anchor Road, a favourite location with Bay regulars as it is close to the beach, tennis court, playground and village centre, but also very private.

Living space

Enter through the side door into the hallway with coat and shoe storage.

To the right is the open-plan kitchen / dining / lounge space with bifold doors to the front deck. The kitchen is well-equipped with tall fridge-freezer, and all the appliances you'll need for your holiday. There's a TV, and sofa-chaise in the living area, and a table and chairs in the kitchen space.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

To your left are the main bedroom with kingsize bed and ensuite shower room, and the second bedroom with 2 small singles (can be joined to make a king on request). There is also another shower room with jack-and-jill doors from the hallway and the second bedroom.

Heating

Gas central heating, electric towel rails in the bathrooms, and a log burner too!

Outside space

The front deck has a patio table and benches which gets the morning sun, ideal for alfresco breakfast or morning coffee. At the rear is a set of 2 seats/table between, so you can enjoy the afternoon sun.

Parking

There is a drive to the side of the house with space for 1-2 cars.

Accessibility

The driveway/path sleepers can be uneven and slippery when wet and therefore this property may not be suitable for guests with mobility issues.

Great stay - everything perfect - will be back again soon

What a lovely chalet. Everything we needed and more. Great location on Blue Harbour Road. Have stayed on the Bay before, but this was the first time booking myself. Was recommended Filey Bay Direct from friends - they couldn't have been more helpful. Thank you for a great experience.

Enjoyable stay

Had a very enjoyable 2 night stay in early March. Location of the holiday home was great within ‘The Bay’ and was a very good standard. Beds were comfortable, shower good & would be happy to book again. Communication from Paula at Filey Bay Direct was excellent with everything covered. Only negatives were parking was a bit tight with the thick bushes either side of the wooden sleeper drive, and it took us 5 minutes to get the key safe open. The code was right, but the mechanism was very stiff and needs loosening up.

Lovely short break

Lovely accommodation in a great location which was very clean on arrival. Communication was brilliant throughout. Well laid out with some good extra touches and all the things we required to make a it a very comfortable stay. We intend to come back again in the near future too.

We had a great stay, the property was clean and comfortable. The location was ldeal for all North Yorkshire locations of which we visited a few. The site is well situated clean and tidy and plenty of amenities, I would recommend it to anyone. Thanks for a great stay.

New Years Break

Firstly we love the Bay and will definitely be back this year. It’s the first time we’ve stayed in what we would refer to as a Shally/Cabin and the weather was pretty poor so in giving 4 for Cleanliness and Condition did not affect our break at all and if it was possible to give 4+ then I would have done.

Excellent service and quality accommodation on a holiday complex we have stayed at many times before. We even arranged to extend our stay whilst at the Blue Anchor very efficiently at a good price. We will book again with Filey Bay Direct and would highly recommend them.

Lovely as always

Lovely stay at The Bay as always. We go every year in January for our dog’s birthday. The Blue Anchor was clean, comfortable and well equipped. A short walk to the shop, pub and beach. I enjoyed the beach themed decor! Beds were very comfortable, hot showers, everything worked. The timber slats used on the driveways are so slippery when wet but that’s an issue across most of those properties, so just be careful - especially in the dark! Overall we would look to stay again next year. Thank you :-)

Beach hideaway

Lovely clean, beach theme decorated Lodge. Equipped with everything you need for your stay, fridge freezer, washer, towels,hairdryer Lovely quiet location, close to amenities. 10 min walk to the beach with access to be able to walk into Filey. Great beach with areas for dogs. Highly recommend

Wonderful stay!

We had a fantastic stay, the lodge was perfect and had everything we needed, the location was great to walk to the pub and the beach. The facilities at the bay are really good, we had a great time and will definately return. The host was really good, sent lots of information upfront and offered an early check in of we arrived early. The key safe option was great as we could go directly to the property and get sorted. Everyone on the site was very friendly especially with the dogs.

Quality stay

It’s the second time staying on Filey Bay and we loved it just as much as the first time. We hired 4 units for a family break and Paula sorted it all out for me without a hitch. We even got a discount for being a returning customer. The accommodation had everything we needed and more. Even down to buckets and spades for the beach and camp chairs. The whole site is beautifully kept and its minutes walk to get to the beach. I can not think of a single thing to complain about, the whole break was spot on. I would definitely recommend and I can’t wait to return.

Our stay in Blue Anchor, The Bay Filey

We had a lovely few days in The Blue Anchor. The location is very good within a few minutes walk of the shop, the pub and the path to the beach. The house is a good size comfortable and well furnished and has its own parking spot. My only criticism is that the outside sleepers were very worn especially going into the side door. Otherwise a lovely property.

Lovely accommodation

Paula was so helpful. The accommodation was spotlessly clean lovely and warm. Beds so comfortable. Plenty of crockery one small niggle there wasn't a bottle opener but that didn't stop us having a great weekend away with lovely friends. The beach is a lovely short walk away from the blue anchor which our rescue dog enjoyed. Thank you for our stay.

Clean and tidy with all equipment you need

Excellent property. Very clean and well laid out. There was all the equipment you needed for a chilled out break. The leisure facilities and swimming pool were excellent. My only gripe would be sort the Wi-Fi out it was very slow when it actually managed too work, most of thwe time I had too tether off of my mobile phone,if you are going to provide an all singing all dancing TV with Netflix etc make sure the Wi-Fi is good enough to support this.

Lovely family break

I stayed for a weekend break with my husband and two teenage children. The accommodation was ideal for a weekend, it was lovely, clean and well equipped. It’s decorated in a nautical style which adds to the holiday feel. There was enough outdoor space to enjoy the sunshine and socialise. The only negative was the bushes need to be cut back when parking as they scuffed the car and the wooden parking area is a bit precarious as it’s uneven and slippy when wet. The site was great, we didn’t use the facilities as we were out most of the time but there was a lovely village vibe of an evening. Overall we had a great stay, we followed the sunshine and booked last minute and were glad we did. We would recommend The Blue Anchor, maybe for a short break if you have teenagers, but for longer with little ones.

Overall nice accommodation but

Nice accommodation but lacks a few comforts. We were lucky enough to have good weather and were not able to sit in comfort outside. There was a picnic table but for us oldies it was not ideal seating. Also the sofa was a little uncomfortable. I’ve since been told it’s a new sofa so perhaps it’s down to my old bones. I did feel that the property was not cleaned thoroughly. Doors and under the sofa had weeks of dust. Overall a nice spacious base close to the beach and nice that its dog friendly. Good customer service. I was kept up to date with everything regarding the holiday.
