Whether you are looking to have a romantic getaway for two or to make new family memories, The Cozy Cabin, a Mountain Retreat is the perfect place for you! This gem of a cabin is perched on the hillside with everything you need for the ultimate retreat. The Mountain Retreat is a wonderfully cozy cabin situated on several acres deep in the mountains of North Carolina, in close proximity to Boone, Blowing Rock, West Jefferson, and Wilkesboro. The Mountain Retreat is the PERFECT spot for a romantic retreat for 2 or a small family. There is 1 bedroom with a queen bed and a queen-size sofa bed in the living room. There is also a memory foam rollaway twin bed. There is room for an inflatable queen-size air mattress if needed (it would be very cozy). Just a stone's throw from the cabin there is the pleasant sound of a mountain stream. The terrain surrounding the cabin is full of plants, flowers, shrubs, and fruit trees. We even have a gazebo with a swing for you to enjoy! The Mountain Retreat is just a few miles away from the Blue Ridge Parkway and is located in a charming cabin community called Creekside Estates. There are only a handful of cabins in the neighborhood, so you can rest assured to experience a most special stay. The Mountain Retreat is located 15 minutes from Boone and 20 minutes to West Jefferson and 45 minutes to Blowing Rock. The Blue Ridge Parkway is only 4 miles from the cabin.

The cabin was a bit smaller than expected, but overall was cozy and warm inside. Richard had provided the extra amenities such as shampoo/conditioner, fire wood, coffee, etc. which was a really nice addition. The seating arrangements in the living room are a bit awkward as the couch is perpendicular to the view of the tv and we wanted to have a fire and watch a movie. The smoke wafted into the house, which made the house smell and our eyes burn so bad we had to put the fire out and open the windows. The next night, we decided to try the outdoor firepit, but as soon as the fire got going the ground underneath it caught fire and we had to rush to put it out. This was a huge disappointment for us as we have fires all the time at home with no issue. Richard was made aware of these issues and sent his apologies, however nothing could be done during the time of our visit. We tried the firepit again the last night after cleaning out the ash, leaves, and twigs that were underneath and were able to finally have a nice night with a fire. It was unfortunate that during our 3-night stay, two of those were associated with negative experiences and nothing was done about it.

What a wonderful cabin! Was perfect for us and our golden retriever. The wood burning fireplace was perfect for a chilly night! The host was extremely responsive, the WiFi worked great, as were the steaks we grilled! The place was clean and kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. We will definitely reserve again. This cabin was precious; it was nestled in the woods on a beautiful piece of land. Morning coffee on the private back porch included the sound of many different birds, a rushing creek and a visit from two wandering female deer. Very peaceful and serene!

Bad Experience

This cabin reeked of wood smoke so badly we could not stay there. After less than an hour in the cabin we started to have breathing problems.The "host" was in Croatia so he could not be on site. He texted with me and inferred that I was lying. In my opinion Mr. Gruica has oversold this property. By way of example the bed is a double not a queen. We wrote off a 6 night stay and went home,

Father's Day/Anniversary Weekend

Great weekend celebrating our 23rd Anniversary and Father's Day. The cabin was the perfect spot for us. Loved that it was fully stocked, especially the coffee supplies, as it is a good distance from any grocery stores. Front porch and gazebo provided awesome morning coffee locations as I am always first one up to enjoy the peace and quiet. The neighborhood is great for taking a walk and enjoying the natural surroundings. Felt very safe in this community. We also took advantage of the firepit and roasted marshmallows, played several of the supplied games and of course used the internet without any problems. I would love to go back to this little cozy cabin. Thanks for your hospitality.
