Excellent location, property incredible and comfortable. The only downside is that you need to climb 86 steps from ground level to access the property and dangerous at night because they lack of illumination on the stairs to climb to the apartment that is located in the 5th floor.
Disappointed, the location and the property are really good, but we had a fifth floor unit, no elevator and since we are 70 and 80 years old we request for help with the luggage and was denied.
Nice place to stay close to everything. However, it is not kept well nor is it clean. Sofa has stains and is covered by material that is also stained and dirty. Some molding in the bathroom due to poor cleaning. Beware LOTS of stairs however Oscar at check in was a dream and helped with luggage. Street is loud at night but closing the double windows isolates very well. Overall OK but not clean.
The apartment was stunning. Beautifully decorated and modern. It had everything we needed and was within walking distance to all attractions. The company running/looking after the apartment were great with recommendations on restaurants and methods of transport to get to and from places. The only negative about this apartment was that there wasnât a lift. The apartment is on the 5th floor which in 34 degree heat and with 20kg luggage is a difficulty to climb. You definitely have to be relatively fit to stay here. Would not recommend to the elderly. It must also be noted that there is an Irish pub three doors down, we were woken up once or twice by very loud Americans outside.
The apartment itself was clean, spacious, updated and pretty. The hosts do keep in communication with you.
However, they donât clearly say in the description how high up the apartment is, with no elevator. Itâs the â5th floorâ and about 85 steps up. I didnât realize this when I booked it or I wouldnât have booked it. I had to partly unpack my bag and make 3 trips up and did the same when leaving. I definitely got my workout! Itâs a bit of a bummer especially when running around the city all day. The first 2 flights are dimly lit, the lights donât really make it there and those are the most uneven steps.
There is no clothes dryer, but a decent small washing machine. Also, I realize itâs an old building with old pipes, but I the shower changed from hot and cold quicker than when you see a cop doing 80mph.
Additionally, the first day I questioned the area as a drug deal went down by some random people while I was waiting for the person with the keys. However, it seemed a one off and the location is actually decent!
Would I stay again? Maybe if I only had a backpack.
MOLD! 90 STEPS! LOUD AND 90 STAIRS! DO NOT BOOK! Picture this, you finally get done lugging your suitcases and traveling to Florence. Then you are met with the assistant of the property who you have to wait on for 10 minutes to arrive after getting haggled over your arrival time multiple times throughout the day⊠and she asks you how many bags you have (3 larger suitcases) looks at you with wide eyes and says âyou have to walk up 6 storiesâ and continues to say âI will meet you guys at the topâ offering no help with luggage or even offering to carry a purse. We had to lug everything up over 90 stairs in a dark and hot hallway (SCARY) with no ac. Then after checking in you realize you have no hot water! So you message every single one of the assistant numbers and the property multiple times over a span of 30 hours and are hit with no response besides âsend a picture of the boilerâ and âthereâs nothing we can do until tomorrowâ which was then our third day staying at the property. Our final straw was when we were grateful to finally have a washing machine and it was COVERED IN MOLD!!! I have pictures to prove it! Not only that but dirty tissues underneath the bed, no air conditioner for long periods at a time, broken baseboards and a FILTHY STAINED couch. Now I am not normally an individual who writes bad reviews as I work in the hospitality industry, but this was terrible. We were offered no solution to our issues and had to pay for an additional hotel out of our pocket!
