This two-story, 4.5-bedrooms 2-bath vacation rental is perfect for families and friends looking to get away from it all while still enjoying the comforts of civilization â including an office, active solar, Wi-Fi strong enough for a working vacation, a large hot-tub, and central heating to warm you when the coastal evenings set in. Situated on a forested acre in a quiet and private neighborhood cul-de-sac, this property boasts neat groves of towering redwoods and green lawns. Astronomy buffs and romantics will love the spectacular views of the sky on clear nights while taking in the sound of distant ocean waves. Everyone will love a relaxing dip in the large hot tub surrounded by redwoods and in fact just so you guys know there are over 100 redwoods around this home!
In addition to the solar panels and storage battery, the home also has a backup generator, so come rain or shine, youâll be able to enjoy your vacation. This home also has a universal Tesla charger for charging all types of electric vehicles.
Originally built in 1877 as a loggerâs cabin, the house was renovated several times, with two additions between the 1970s and the present, so you can experience a touch of history while making use of thoroughly modern amenities.
Today, the house features a variety of carefully crafted flourishes, along with everything you need to feel at home, including a new and well-equipped open kitchen, counter seating, a cozy breakfast nook with seating for six, a Dining Room with a 6 person dining table, a washer and dryer, and a spacious living room with lots of entertainment options including an âintrovertâs cornerâ. Clerestory windows ensure ample natural light in the Living Room, which accentuates the elegant redwood construction. The Living Room is always warm and cozy, with an electric fireplace to keep the chill away as needed. (Serenity Grove also has a Pack n Play available for infants and toddlers.)Â All rooms have plenty of windows with gorgeous views and skylights interspersed throughout the home.
For those with a competitive side, Serenity Grove boasts a âKidâs Caveâ (a garage-turned-Game-Room), featuring a foosball table, ping pong table, a game table, and other entertainment options. Kids and adults will love the entertainment setup, including a 65-inch TV with sound bar and subwoofer. The refrigerator is the perfect place to store drinks and snacks for movie night. A watercolor easel offers artists a place to paint when inspiration hits. The Kids cave also features a brand new Peloton bike for all guests to use.
The famed Noyo Harbor and its award-winning seafood restaurants and markets are a short drive away (6 minutes). The Harvest Market is just down the road (4 minutes), making specialty food supply runs simple. The Village of Mendocino is only 10 minutes away.
The kitchen has new cabinets and counters, a 4-top dual fuel gas cooktop and electric oven with a downdraft fan, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. The Breakfast Nook has a microwave, toaster oven, Ninja blender, Crockpot, Keurig coffee maker, French Press, and a regular coffee maker to start your morning.
On warm days and evenings, you can dine at the outdoor table that seats 8. Those loving to cook outdoors will appreciate the new gas grill, while children and adults alike will love roasting marshmallows over the gas fire pit while telling your best campfire stories. The hot tub is ideal for chatting about your favorite finds or soothing sore muscles after a long day of exploring, not to mention rinsing off with the outdoor shower.
The home comes with a big-screen Smart TV in the Living Room with Samsung/Xfinity/Comcast access and plenty of books and games. However, with such an abundance of natural beauty and peaceful nature nearby, you may be busy listening to birdsong, taking in the fresh coastal air, exploring hidden gems, local haunts and catching the occasional glimpse of wildlife.
And last but not least, all of the soaps and cleaners used and provided in the home are chemical free and natural, including the toiletries provided (shampoo, body wash and conditioner). We also use a HEPA vacuum in the home as well.

The name Serenity reflects our serene stay. Our family had a wonderful time. The was supportive and what ever was needed was in the home. We would greatly recommend Serenity for a family vacation.
Wonderful house with great outdoor space. My favorite part was the outdoor fire pit in the sectional. The bed was comfortable.. The house well stocked.
A nice home with several bedrooms that are nicely furnished, especially for the kiddos. Note there is no master bathroom and the kitchen is rather small- we felt a bit limited in what we could cook due to equipment and space available. The house itself sits on a nice property with a large deck. However, the neighborhood felt a bit sketchy- there was an abandoned trailer next door and the neighborâs fence was broken down and torn up in places. Fort Bragg itself is okay and located close to lots of hikes, kayaking, beaches, and the skunk train, but itâs a rather run-down town and didnât feel very touristy. We had some issues with bears getting into our trash and the response by the property management team was immediate and swift. Very nice folks. Weâd definitely rent from them again.
Pros:Location of the propertyProperty itself is greatCons:Some key missing items like Coffee, laundry washing detergent and conditioner (yes they have given one conditioning shampoo but it does not work)If coffee is missing and they don't tell you about it, the next day morning, it becomes super inconvenient and overall messy to first go to the store to purchase coffee. Even motel-6 gives you coffee. Similarly, the property was missing laundry detergent, and we needed to do one single load of wash and we needed to purchase a whole can of detergent just for this.
We recently stayed at this property and had a great time overall. The location is fantasticâclose to everything we needed, with beautiful surroundings that made our trip even more enjoyable. The property itself was comfortable and had plenty of space. However, we did run into some issues with the heating and electrical output. The heating system struggled to keep the space warm, which was a challenge during colder nights. Additionally, we noticed some inconsistencies with the electrical system, which required some troubleshooting. That said, the property manager was incredibly responsive and communicative. They did their best to address our concerns quickly and were always available to answer questions, which we really appreciated. With a few improvements to the heating and electrical setup, this rental would be perfect. Despite those issues, we still had a good stay and would recommend it for those looking for a well-located spot with great management.
Perfect spot for a quiet weekend getaway! Very clean and had almost everything we could need for our visit. Loved the occasional visits from the deers :)
The cabin is off the main road and tucked away in the redwoods, but it is a short drive to the Fort Bragg downtown and nearby State Parks. This was a great cabin and location for our family getaway, and we would definitely stay here again! The neighborhood was more rural and wild, and we saw 5 or 6 deer waking through the property most days. The layout of the original home was very cool, and the newer additions with bedrooms were nice and comfortable for our family members. Cellular service wasn't great (ATT), but the wifi was fast. Overall we loved it, and this cabin served as a great base camp for our adventures on the North Coast. Cheers!
This is a beautiful house in a wonderful setting that I would certainly return to. Our only complaint was that the bed/futon in the office room is terribly uncomfortable so the fifth person in our group wasn't able to get a good nights sleep.
