Summer Breeze on Little McDonald Lake

SUMMER BREEZE- Little Mac Cottage.

Enjoy this charming 3-bedroom, 1 bath cabin on the north shore of Little McDonald Lake. Just steps away from a nice sandy bottom that will provide hours of entertainment for kids and adults alike. Do not forget the fishing poles as Little Mac has some great walleye fishing all summer long. Enjoy sunrises and sunsets from the lakeside patio or simply take in the amazing views of the water.

2 bedrooms offer queen beds with 1 full bed in the 3rd bedroom. The porch also has a queen sofa sleeper. The kitchen has all of the necessities with a gas stove, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, toaster, pots/pans dishes & utensils all provided. Paper towels and bathroom toiletries are also included. Small, leashed dogs under 20lbs will be considered with a pet fee.

Two complementary kayaks are available on this property. End a great day on the water with a cozy bonfire in the outdoor fire pit. The boat lift in the pictures is no longer available. Serene Getaway in Fall

We loved this little house on the lake while we were in the Detroits Lakes area hiking in 3 of the MN State Parks. The size and location of the house was perfect for us, and the furnishings were warm and inviting. From chilled bottled water in the refrigerator, to a sweet hadwritten note from the owners with the gift of a grilling mat, we felt like we were cared for as "family". Being able to walk out the backdoor down to the dock in the early morning with a cup of coffee and watch sunrise was fabulous! In the evening, we enjoyed watching loons diving for dinner while enjoying our dinner spot on the deck. Hubby decided to take a serendiptous dip in the lake which was CLEAN and refreshing! I hope we can return again this time next year, and take the kayaks out on the lake for exploration and enjoy the serenity that this property and location provide.

Ahhhhhh MAZING!

My husband and I loved our stay. We brought our senior dog with us and he loved the water just like we did. Beautiful beach that I never left the entire time. The cabin was perfect for us. Very clean, well stocked and comfortable. I wish we didn’t have to leave.

Loved Lake Life

We all were very impressed with this cabin, beach and super clear lake. The cabin was very clean, beds comfortable, nice supplies and a nice gas grill. The dock was awesome. Caught alot of fish off the dock, but found no walleyes. Owners nice and friendly, even gave us a greeting gift. Highly recommend.

Sweet Family Time

We enjoyed a sweet family time at this cabin on the lake. Would absolutely go back. Owners were wonderful, cabin clean and well equipped kitchen, beach clean, nice dock and kayaks.

They literally thought of everything!

The cabin itself comes with almost anything a person could think of. The one thing I thought was odd is the owners live across the road, so they came to water the outdoor plants each day [yes it was disclosed that "someone" would be coming] but it still felt intrusive. She is SUPER nice, but it still felt odd. Lake is beautiful. Kids and adults had a blast.

Perfect home away from home with a lake

My family had the perfect vacation. The owners are super nice and I appreciate their hospitality of sharing their cabin with others. You will not need to pack much as they have thought of everything to have in the cabin for your stay. The lake is beautiful. The kayaks are awesome. Fishing was fun. The best part was the cabin and the memories made with my family hanging out, playing games, swimming. Im already ready to go back. Thank you again.

Perfect little cabin!

This was a lovely cabin on Little Mac. 8 people stayed here - 6 adults and 2 kids, and it was great for us. We spent A LOT of time outside, and fishing, swimming, enjoying the sunshine. The kitchen was VERY well stocked. We'd definitely come back!

Fantastic

I always overpack when I rent vacation homes as there’s always something I need that’s not provided at the rental. I could have packed much lighter at this rental! They provided so many things that went above and beyond what was needed. My family of 4 had a great week here. We spent the hot summer days enjoying the crystal clear water with swimming and fishing from the dock. We grilled out on the lakeside deck and spent time at dusk around the fire pit. The only thing missing is a washer and dryer, but we never really missed those either. The owners let us know they were nearby if we needed anything, but they were wanting to give us our privacy at the same time. We will certainly consider booking again in the future!

Awesome family vacation!

We really enjoyed staying at the cabin on Little McDonald Lake! My first impression is wow, it might be too small but it was just the right size! The main room is right on the lake and is a beautiful view. The bedrooms are comfortable and we all had a good night's sleep. Three kids and two boyfriends came and and all of them enjoyed doing various activities: fishing, kayaking, golfing, hiking, and exploring. There are very thoughtful touches throughout the cabin. We loved listening to the Loons and were thrilled by the bald eagle sighting. This is one of the best, most clean lakes we've ever been on. The fishing was fantastic! It meant so much to us that we could bring our pets; they were so happy they could come! We would recommend this cabin to anyone that is looking for fun family/friend times!

1st MN lake house vacation

This was a cute cabin. The furniture was comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. The dock was nice and long, with kayaks for fun times. The lake is clear and you can see to the bottom. I appreciated the towels, coffee, water, paper products, games, and personalized welcome note. The shower is incredibly small so don't plan to shave your legs in there. The bed pillows could be replaced. The umbrella stand on the deck wasn't sturdy so the umbrella couldn't be used for shade and fell over in the wind even in the closed position. I was worried based on photos that the air conditioner wouldn't keep the cabin cool, but the 2 units did a good job of maintaining a comfortable temperature. Overall, we had a pleasant first MN lake vacation.

Clean cabin; sandy lake; lovely owners

We have done rental cabins for about 5 years in the Ottertail area and this was the best! Clean, great accessories (games, blankets, kayaks), beautiful clear lake. Easy access to Perham, quiet lake, fully functional cabin. Wonderful. Owners are nearby and were very helpful as needed. Loved the option to rent water craft, too.

Cozy cabin

My family and I enjoyed staying at this cozy lakeside cabin. The cabin was clean and supplied with all the essentials. Most importantly, it's location on super clear Little McDonald cannot be beat. The listing is a bit confusing with it simultaneously listing the cabin as both a 1 and 2 bathroom (it is a 1 bath to be clear). After all is said and done, we would stay again.

Absolutely Amazing!

Was a little reluctant to book this property since it didn’t have any reviews. But we had an absolute blast! The water is clear and the swimming is great. The kitchen comes well equipped and the inside is super clean and cozy. I would stay here ten times over! Also, Perham is a great little town nearby with great eats!!
