Unplug from the craziness of the world with a relaxing stay in Bowers Beach. This freshly renovated 4 bedroom, 2 bath home can sleep up to 8 people per stay. 1,750 sqft of indoor space, a lovely front porch and large fire pit area will give your group plenty of space to relax during your visit. Your kids will love the playground, picnic area and basketball court across the street. This home includes 4x full size beds and 2 full baths. This home is about a 4 block walk to the beach entrance, allowing for simple trips back and forth throughout your stay. Don't feel like walking? Enjoy the included bikes or 6 person surrey! House comes equipped with a charcoal grill, beach chairs, and firepit. Bowers is home to two bar/restaurants, a park/playground, bocce ball courts, several charter and party boats, as well as the Bowers maritime museum. 15 minute drive to Dover, the racetrack, Delaware Turf Sports Complex. 30 Minutes to dogfish head brewery, and 40 minutes to Rehoboth, Lewes and Dewey. Whether you stay in town or explore the local area, you will enjoy your stay at the Captain's Cottage.

The location was great, the house was well-maintained and updated, and the hosts were very helpful communicators (when I had questions before our stay, and the information they provided). All the extras we needed were provided (linens, towels, soap, paper towels, etc). The beds were very comfy. I wish our stay was longer, and during nice weather, to enjoy the outdoor area and neighborhood. I recommend bringing bottled water for drinking. This was the first rental where I needed a deposit or purchased insurance to reserve it, but it was such a good value that I didn't mind (and I can appreciate the hosts wanting to keep it nice).

Captain's Cottage was a perfect hideaway for our Thanksgiving week, and added much for us to be thankful for!!! The cottage is cozy, comfy, beautifully decorated, clean, well-equipped with anything guests could want, and the neighborhood is quiet, peaceful and minutes from the water. What a delight for us Midwesterners!!!! Sean and Sarah are exemplary hosts. We hope to be back some day to soak up the sunshine and goodness, relaxing in those back porch rockers. Thanks for a fabulous home away from home!

Bowers is a nice quiet little town The beach is best when the tide is coming in The bottom is a little rough and slimy but the water is nice and if you have water shoes it’s perfect Captains Cottage is comfortable clean and roomy and the kitchen is great for making meals

Great for work and play!

This was a comfortable, clean house, with a great location for doing a variety of activities. From here we were able to do several days at the beach, visit Philadelphia for a day and take a ferry to Cape May. This was in addition to enjoying the small town of Bowers by bike! We were close to the DE Turf where we were working on the weekend and the house was great for my husband to work from for a few days while we were here. I wish we would have gotten a picture of our paddle boards on top of the suri, that was a family favorite.

The Captain's Cottage was the perfect place for our visit to Delaware. We were a quick drive to events at the Woodlands at Dover Speedway, and less than an hour away from Rehoboth Beach, which is highly recommended. Bowers beach in town was also great, clean, and never busy. The property was very clean, fully equipped, and in a very safe and quiet neighborhood. Check in was simple, communicating w/ host was easy and host was quick to respond. Host left details and helpful info about the home, area, food and shopping etc. which was appreciated. We hope to stay here again in the future!

Quiet cottage near the sea!

We had 8 family members staying here, all in town for my son's wedding. We loved the bikes, fire pit, and rocking chairs! The little beach down the road was never crowded. The cottage had everything we needed for a relaxing week with family.

A great experience!

We had a lovely stay at this property. It was clean and the decor was tasteful and inviting. The kitchen was well equipped to support meal prep and bedrooms were spacious with comfortable beds. The property owners were available and responsive. We loved accessing the beach and enjoyed the availability of bikes, especially the surrey! We hope to stay at this location next April for an extended stay!
