First off, the views from the back porch are every bit as spectacular as the listing suggests and are worthy of a five-star review. Unfortunately, that is where the five-star review ends.
The pet fee that I was charged was significantly higher than what was listed. I contacted the owner and he stated that if I could show him where it stated the lower fee in the listing he would make it right. I emailed him a screenshot of the listing and never heard back. Upon arrival, the grass had not been mowed and was over a foot tall, making the picnic table unusable. The grill was rusted, missing parts, and full of ashes. We could not find a grill brush on-site but fortunately there was some aluminum foil in the kitchen that we were able to clean the grate with. The carpet in the living room was stained and there were cobwebs all over the ceiling of both bedrooms and the bathroom. The couch is worn-out and uncomfortable. The mattress in the main bedroom is also extremely uncomfortable and caused us both back issues all weekend. The stairs down to the river were one of the draws for us but once you get down them, there is no bank to fish from or set up chairs.
Overall, if you want incredible views this is probably as good as you'll do at this price point, but you are sacrificing comfort for those views. If comfort and amenities are important to you then you can do much better for the price.
