Summary:
Welcome to Royal Shenandoah, where a preserved 1789 log cabin meets a spacious modern retreat. Set on three private acres in Front Royal, the home has six bedrooms across three levels, with warm gathering spaces, a hot tub, a fire pit, and game areas for families and groups. The name is a nod to the town itself, where the Shenandoah Valley opens up and Skyline Drive begins its climb into the park.
The space
Before you step inside, Royal Shenandoah tells its story: a preserved 1789 log cabin facade, a covered front porch, and a home expanded for modern gatherings on three private acres.
🍽️ Gather
The home opens into a bright farmhouse kitchen and dining area, stocked with cookware, bakeware, and serveware for everything from big breakfasts to holiday dinners. Stainless appliances, generous counter space, and a large island make it easy to cook together, and bar seating keeps everyone in the conversation. The dining area looks out over the yard, where deer and foxes turn up at dusk. Just beyond, the Great Room centers on a custom mantle and a 70-inch electric fireplace, with a 75-inch TV for movie nights.
🎬 Play
The Great Room opens into the original 1789 cabin, where hand-hewn timbers still carry the house's history. A custom game table sits at its center for late-night board games, and a reading loft above is the quiet seat in the house. In cooler months the propane fireplace keeps this part of the home especially warm. Downstairs, the game room and lounge give the group a second place to spread out.
🛏️ Rest
Six bedrooms across three levels. On the main level, the Primary King Suite has a king bed, full ensuite bath, and a TV, with no stairs to reach it. The second level holds three bedrooms: the Green Room with a king, and the Red and Blue Rooms with queens. On the lower level, the Second King Suite adds a king, a full ensuite bath, and a dedicated workspace, beside a Twin Room with two twin beds next to the entertainment space.
♨️ Unwind
Step out from the Great Room into the wide backyard, where a stone path leads to the hot tub and the propane fire pit is set up for s'mores. The covered porch has hanging chairs, a propane Blackstone griddle is ready for cookouts, and bocce ball and cornhole are out on the lawn. This is our favorite part of the property.

🦌 Wildlife & Surroundings
Royal Shenandoah is surrounded by nature, and it is common to see deer, rabbits, and even a pair of local box turtles in the garden beds. Black bears have also occasionally been seen in the area, so guests should avoid leaving food, trash, or scented items outdoors. While the home is carefully maintained, occasional insects may make their way inside, especially in a wooded setting. Please let us know if anything seems out of the ordinary. During warmer months, we ask guests to drive with care on nearby roads, as turtles and other wildlife often cross.
🏡 Privacy
Royal Shenandoah sits on three private acres, offering a peaceful and tucked-away setting surrounded by trees and landscaping. The property shares a short roadway with three nearby homes, though neighbors are generally not visible from the cabin. Because this is still part of a small residential community, guests may occasionally notice neighbors, pets, children, or others in the area. We ask that you help preserve the peaceful setting by keeping in mind that voices, music, and other noise can carry beyond the property, particularly when enjoying the outdoor spaces.
🧹 Property Care & Hot Tub
We continually improve Royal Shenandoah to enhance guest comfort. Furniture, décor, or small details may differ slightly from photos, but the overall quality and style remain consistent. The hot tub is open year-round and serviced regularly by a professional team. During your stay, our landscaping or hot tub care team may service the property as needed. These visits are brief, exterior only, and do not require interior access.
🔥 Fireplace & Griddle
The Great Room fireplace is electric and available year-round, with no wood to manage. The fireplace in the original cabin is propane. Outside, the fire pit and the Blackstone griddle are both propane.
