The reason for 3 star rating is the room size and floor cleanliness. No complaint with any other aspect of the hotel. Room was a quite small and constrictive, particularly for leisure travellers on a week's stay. Room also looked tired, with patched up carpets, disconnected air purifier, and average quality air conditioning. Aged carpets seemed to produce dust during day time. Lack of English labels and descriptions on AC control was disappointing. Clearly a hotel for business or corporate travellers on a 1 or 2 nights stay. I fault Expedia for not checking the purpose of stay and produce suggestions with appropriate hotels. Expedia also gives very limited choices when it comes to rooms and amenities. Room size is also an an important feature and therefore an amenity!

部屋がタバコ臭が染み付いた匂いがしており、時間が経てば鼻が慣れるのではと思い我慢していましたが、時間が経過すると共にやや胸が苦しくなる感じになり、内線をしその旨を伝え部屋の変更を依頼しました。すぐに対応してくださり、7日間の滞在を快適に過ごす事ができ助かりました。

Nice hotel and the price is comparable to others rated similar in the area. Great staff. Most spoke my native language (English). It was a short walk from Hakata Station. Lots of shops and places to eat.

Typical older 1980s Japanese hotel. Rooms were on the small side for Fukuoka and not recently renovated. Mattress and linens were nice but the bathroom definitely needs renovation.

The property is a bit dated. The hotel tries to make up for it with an array of consumables. The walk from the Hakata train station was okay. Have to get past just one traffic intersection. If you’re not spending too much time in the hotel, this is value for money.
