Camp Braswell is a friendly clean and welcoming get-a-way. This retreat is special in so many ways especially to our family. We hope you enjoy the lake front location and very specious park like yard with swings and benches. With an acre parking boat trailers is simple. The nearest boat launch is only 2 miles away. Simply launch your boat and tie up to the pier provided. Outside hook up is provided to recharge batteries.The kitchen has everything you will need to cook and enjoy your meals. The laundry room boasts brand new washer and dryer.
Three bedrooms sleep 6 comfortably. The master bedroom has a queen bed. The second bedroom has a twin/full bunk and the third bedroom has a twin and full bed.
The pier is a perfect place to fish catch sun or tie your boat.
The city of Guntersville is 2 miles away. Grocery stores, locally owned shops, churches and restaurants are all minutes away.

The home is situated on one of Lake Guntersville's exclusive shorelines. Please note the lake is a fisherman's haven which is enhanced by the vegetation. The presence of grass is possible due to mother nature.

Adequate for our needs
First of all, let me start by saying we used the house during the off season, so the minot issues we had, that I felt no need to communicate to the owner, are probably as a result of timing. 1) There are no closets, anywhere or ways to store your clothes so they are out of the way; 2) there were no basic cleaning supplies other than dish soap 3) Toilet inner workings got "stuck" a lot. This is a bare bones place to sleep and enjoy the lake. It is close to downtown, so the location is good, but it is hard to find. As seasoned VRBO renters, this was.the first time we could not give the property 5 stars across the board. The issues listed above were mitigated by us and we were okay with that, but for future renters, if you are looking for luxury or comfort this may not be the place for you.

We loved Cheryl's little place on the lake!
Honestly, after seeing some of the reviews, I almost didn't book this place, but I am so happy that I did. There was plenty of room for us and we had some friends and family over to grill, watch football and boat during the daytime hours and we enjoyed ourselves so much. There are cornhole boards, a firepit (that we thoroughly enjoyed, huge deck and the location is perfect. The sail boat club next door allowed us to dock our pontoon there overnight as the eel grass was all over the dock for the rental, but that is just Lake Guntersville right now. This is no fault of the owner of this property. We would definitely book this place again! Thank you so much for sharing your little piece of the lake with us!

Family fishing trip
The property has water access and a community dock. We did have ants in the kitchen and the microwave was not usable. Great for fishing but not much to do within walking distance other than fishing.

Not what we expected
First of all no real path to the dock, you’ll have to walk in mud and tall grass, which is shotty at best. We were unable to dock boat at dock because of overgrowth of grass and TRASH! Dirty. As soon as we walked in the house the floors were sticky. No cleaning supplies but an old vacuum. Opened the oven to cook dinner and noticed a plate of about a week old hot dogs in oven yet!! Noticed a few ants on the sink and oven, didn’t think anything of it we are in the woods by it the next morning hundreds everywhere in kitchen and in Bed!. The coffee maker was full of coffee grounds and filthy. Message owner and she sent cleaning lady over that ‘cleaned’ the floor and sprayed for ants I suppose. Well floor was still the same she didn’t vacuum or sweep before cleaning floor and dropped off a filthy dusty coffee maker from ‘storage’ which I purchased my own and used. That night was visited by a roach sitting on the cupboard drawer which we killed! The bath tub feels like your going to fall through. The shower sprays everywhere up and over but where you want it to and small. Long hairs on the bathroom walls. Tv is not smart and no tvs in the bedroom. The fridge and freezer nasty. Place was dirty and dirty. So don’t bring a lot of food unless you want to end up throwing it out due to ants and roaches. Good luck.

Last resort stay
I came to visit for my brothers wedding in albertville AL. Other properties on Vrbo wanted my German shepherd to remain in a cage at all times. That’s not possible since I couldn’t carry it with from OH. And he is a great dog, he isn't rambunctious. Luckily I finally found this place, that doesn’t require my German shepherd to be in a crate and there is plenty of space to run around outdoors. The reason the review is 1 star is due to there being multiple hygiene problems. Bugs and cobwebs in the boarders of walls and stuck onto the wall. stained old beds, couches, rugs, towels, pillows, ect. Only 1 garbage bag provided, no extra sponge, the tub wasn’t scrubbed prior to us being there, there was hair on the wall and everything has dirt and dust. There was spots on the mirrors, used old sponge, watered down dawn dish soap. There was a load of towels and bath mats in the dryer left there. We arrived a hour early the first day and no car was there, so who knows how long ago the last visitor was there and they cleaned the place. The smoke alarms went off at 2 am for no reason. We took them out and found out they were from 2005. The owner of the property is responsive but my family did not feel good in this place. It needs an update and a deep cleaning, and better maintenance.

Ant problem and the place needs updating. It was a bit difficult to fish from the pier due to boats and grass. The location was great and place was neat and clean. We did enjoy our stay.

Good location. Information was misleading about the pier.
The place was clean and located well for fishing (the purpose of our trip). I was originally told the pier was under repair. Then told we could use it as long as we were careful about the neighbors sailboat. And then another renter was using it for his bass boat. Point being, if a pier is important to you, do not rent this place. If you're OK with several boat ramps being nearby, then it's not bad. Difficult to back a boat onto the concrete pad. Little to no room for turning around. The only outdoor plug was in the front. If you need to charge batteries overnight, bring a long extension cord. Beds were fair but not what I'd call comfortable. The mattresses reminded me of cot mattresses with the thick plastic covers that make a lot of noise when you move. The place was clean. Overall, I was a little disappointed and will stay elsewhere next time. The pier was a decision point for us. Not being able to use it factors into my review heavily. The comfort of the mattresses, the pier issue, the lack of turnaround space, the poor location of the outdoor plug, does not make this convenient for people on a fishing trip.
