A good night at Red Roof.
The check in was a little bit slow, but not annoying. Morning desk agent was friendly and informative. Forgot my hanging clothes in the room, when I called to pick them up after my doctor's appointment... they were already aware and had them at the front desk.

Came down and stayed for the NHRA Gatornational race weekend. Hotel was clean and adequate. Staff was courteous, Ice maker wasn’t working on the 4th floor and the TV and remote wasn’t working properly but we really were not in the room that much so it was not too big a deal. Plenty of restaurant choices within walking distance or a short drive. Seemed like a fairly safe area. Good visit

Hotel rates for Gainesville seem very high. Our room was pretty standard. The only thing that made it stand out from a room we had the previous week at another nearby hotel (at less than half the cost) was the second wastebasket. There was no tissue box in the room, just a purse-sized packet of tissues. The bathroom wall above the tub had been badly repaired, and there was no plug for the bathtub drain, so I can only hope our showers didn't lead to water behind the wall. There were plenty of lamps and lights in the room.
