Enjoying fabulous views across the Minch to the Isle of Skye, this comfortable detached holiday bungalow was updated in 2021 with a new kitchen and new sofa and chairs. It is just a few minutesâ walk from an unspoilt sandy beach, and only 9 miles from the pretty village of Gairloch, where the nearest shops are to be found. The nearest pub/restaurant is at Badachro, 3 miles away, but the wider area has many coffee shops and restaurants, along with other places of interest. Within easy reach of Skye, Ullapool, Plockton, Eilean Donan Castle and Inverness for day trips, this part of Wester Ross is famous for dolphins, whales and seabirds, and the area has beautiful beaches as well as being a superb area for climbing and hill walking, with the dramatic Torridon mountain range as a backdrop. Horse riding is also available at Red Point (3 miles), and there is a nine-hole golf course in Gairloch. Fishing opportunities are located nearby.
We had a lovely stay in Opinan, near Gairloch.
The house was clean, we had nice beds and we enjoyed the the bath.
Extra's where the views over the bay, and the nearby beach. (water was a bit cold). a very nice place to stay.
But specially for the first night, don't forget to bring your diner and breakfast, as the nearest shop is about a 20 minutes by car.
We recommend a stay in this cottage on this special location.
We stayed at Grinills with my toddler and parents for a few days. The location was perfect for my toddler who loved running and rolling about on the beach, and there were lots of toys and books for him too. The views from the house were spectacular. Everything was really clean even if the decor is a little dated. The kitchen was really well equipped and all appliances worked well. The garage came in really useful as we had various bikes and equipment with us. We've since moved to another holiday house nearer Skye but missing Grinills and wishing we'd stayed there longer!
Spent a week with various family members & the dog in this nice wee house in a beautiful quiet corner of the world.
Lots of activities to do & places to visit. Plus we were lucky with the weather :-)
Only minor issues were a microwave with temperamental controls & my son reported one of the single beds a bit creaky.
Would recommend & I would go back.
